Shades of Brown and Animal Magic

Hello everyone,

Yesterday afternoon while sitting in my craft room I notice all the lovely brown, yellow and red colors of autumn are with us in South Africa. Making the card with shades of brown was not that difficult when looking at the maple tree in our garden with its lovely autumn leaves. As I wanted to enter the card for 2 challenges this week I have to combine the browns of the PBSC with an animal creation for the Polka Doodles challenge. I follow the blog for quite a while to look at all the lovely cards the DT team uploaded with their challenges and decided to join in the fun. So this week I am a newbie to this challenge blog.

The adorable cat stamp is from Penny Black Clear stamp set “Purrfect day” and the leave stamp from Great Impressions (South Africa) B588. The coloring was done with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils and Tim Holtz Distress Ink “Vintage photo”. I used oatmeal and brown cardstock and add a piece of hessian for layering. A paper string bow and a paper flower completed the card. My hand is not very steady for freestyle writing but I managed to write the “hello” although it is a little bit shaky.
