A Splash of Yellow

Hello dear friends,

On Wednesday Susan posted a new challenge on her blog, Simplicity. For this One Layer Wednesday challenge, OLW35 – Yellow, we must create a card where yellow is the main colour. You may use other colors as well, but the dominant color must be yellow. Embellishments must be kept to a minimum.

At first I wanted to use a sunflower stamp but then decided on this rather plain and uncomplicated stamp. To give the image a little bit of depth I shaded some of the flowers with orange.  I opted for a narrow ribbon to accentuate  the thin stems of the flowers.  The embossing strip serves as  an “anchor” for the image. I must admit it is a little bit difficult for me to get used to such a minimalistic layout of a card!

I used the following to create the card:

  • White cardstock
  • Best Rubber Stamps (South Africa) stamp 6651
  • Yellow satin ribbon
  • Cuttlebug embossing folder “Just my type”
  • Faber-Castell Aquarelle watercolour pencils for colouring

Hope you like the card and thanks for stopping by. I would appreciate your comment so I can come visit you too. Have a wonderful weekend.

Greetings,

Amelia
