Inspired by Nature

Hello everyone,

This card is for a friend who like large cards – she always said a card must knock her off her feet! This type of  card is always difficult for me because you need so many embellies and a large stamp to cover the front. I decided on designer paper and used the two printed birds as main focus. I had this paper for quite a while and can’t remember the company but it could be K and Company as I love their designs and have many of their design papers in my “paper archive”. The colour of the American seam binding is “Rose petal” and it matched perfectly with the designer paper. To create a shabby chic look to the card I distressed the edges of the cardstock and framed the images with a background stamp with a crackled theme and guipere lace. Well this is my take on a shabby chic card – hope I succeeded in my attempt!

I entered the card for the following challenges:

I used the following to create the card:

  • White and green cardstock
  • Designer papers
  • Lili of the Valley circular calendar stamp
  • Great Impressions (South Africa) stamp N1326
  • Tim Holtz Alterations Die “Elegant Flourishes”
  • American seam binding “Rose Petal”
  • Guipere lace
  • Heart charms
  • Fancy hat pins
  • Feather
  • Pearls
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink “Peeled paint”

Would love to hear what you think of my card. Enjoy the rest of the week and happy crafting.

Regards from South Africa,

Amelia
