Roses in Abundance

Hello friends,

Another Wild Orchid Craft project to share today. I made this card for the Wild Orchid Craft Challenge blog where the challenge is to create a card using the embossing technique (either dry or heat) with layers (use at least 3 layers of paper/ embossed card). As my regular blog visitors  already noticed, I love bird-cages. I counted my birdcage stamps a few weeks ago and came to the sum of eight plus 2 dies and 1 embossing folder! I don’t know why I have this passion for bird-cages but they look so pretty on cards. I also love the ornamental bird-cage s and is always searching for old and weathered ones to decorate and display. To decorate them with roses are my number one way and this birdcage card is no exception. My WOC guest designer kit left the door wide open to  embellish this card with pink roses in abundance. The flourish and birdcage is from the Tim Holtz stamp set “Artful Flight” and the bird from  7 Gypsies clear stamp set “Victoria” The images are stamped with Tim Holtz distress ink “Victorian Velvet” and Versamark ink and heat embossed with white and clear embossing powder to give a raised effect.  For dry embossing I used my Sizzix embossing folder “Corners and Damask set”. The paper roses, lace and seam binding ribbon are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I entered the card in the following challenges:

The heat embossed flourish and little birdie

 The birdcage and roses

The inside with the embossed flourish and label:
