Hello everyone,
Hope you are all well and enjoying this wonderful festive time of the year. Well most of my preparations are done and all the gifts nearly wrapped! I have some last-minute shopping to do on Friday from my grocery list. I am planning to get up early and avoid standing in long queues in the shops. I took a break on all things Christmas yesterday and did a birthday card for a change. I need quite a number of birthday cards for the first three months of the new year, so I decided to get a head start. I have this adorable Penny Black and Whimsy stamps for quite a while and it is a shame I didn’t use them yet. My crafting table is still loaded with pink roses and ribbon used on my pink Christmas cards, so I just continued to decorate this little hedgie card for my sister’s birthday in shabby pink!
I created the card with the following challenges in mind:
- Penny Black and More December Challenge (ends 12/29) – Happy Birthday
- Simon Says Stamp Challenge (ends 12/28) – Let’s Play Bingo (Top row: Ribbon, Gems and Glitter)
- Everybody Art Challenge #173 (ends 01/03) – Anything Goes
- Sparkles Forum Challenges CH#27 (ends 01/15) – Anything but not a Christmas card
- The Crafty Pad Designs Challenge #152 (ends 12/27) – Anything but Christmas
- Sweet Stampin’ Challenge (ends 12/30) – Sparkle and Bling
- Totally Gorguss Challenge #111 (ends 12/24) – For Someone Special
- Clearly Inspired Challenge #CIC42 (ends 12/30) – Birthdays
- Try It On Tuesday Challenge (ends 12/27) – Anything Goes
- Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings #38 (ends 12/29) – Anything Goes and Ribbon
The sparkle and bling
The pink hearts on the inside
Project details:
- White and pink cardstock
- Upikit Designer paper
- Penny Black stamp “Sending Love” (2551H)
- Whimsy Celebration Pennants stamps
- Whimsy Pennants die
- Seam binding “Pink Tulip”
- Paper roses
- Gems
- Wax cord for bunting
- Lyra-Rembrandt Aquarelle watercolour pencils for colouring
- Skwiglues “Sweet pink” glitter glue
- Tim Holtz Distress ink “Spun Sugar” and “Victorian Velvet”
- Cuttlebug “Hearts & Stamps” die set
Last but not least I have something to share because it means so much to me. My November entry was featured as one of the “In the Spotlight” cards at The Penny Black and More Challenge. Yeah, I love Penny Black and thanks to Brenda and the Design Team for choosing me. You can read about my card making journey here in the Penny Black and More Spotlight post.
Thanks for visiting today and looking at my card. Have a wonderful week and enjoy every minute of the festive season.
Regards from South Africa,
Amelia
