Carousel Fun

Hello friends,

I appreciate it so much that you come visiting today, it is such a blessing that people still make time to visit my blog. My card today is in the shabby chic style inspired by the challenge photo at The Shabby Tea Room Challenge blog. Usually I don’t use so many  colours together, so this was quite a challenge for me. The Cottage Cutz die “Carousel Silhouette” and colour combination just fits perfectly together to create a cheerful carnival  atmosphere on this card. I can still remember how I enjoyed myself on the merry-go-round horses when I was a child. Such great fun to go up and down and round and around while Mum and Dad watching  from the side.

Challenges:

A little pink horse and lace to decorate the inside

A close-up of the carousel

Project details:

  • White, red  and green cardstock
  • Designer paper (Upikit and Echo Park)
  • Cottage Cutz die “Carousel Silhouette”
  • JustRite sentiment stamp “Heart to Heart set”
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities “Picot edge circles”
  • Paper doily
  • Paper roses
  • Buttons
  • Hug Snug seam binding (Paradise Aqua)
  • Baker’s twine
  • Lace
  • Tim Holtz distress ink “Tea dye”

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting.

Regards from South Africa,

Amelia

This sure brings back a lot of memories from my childhood. We had an amusement park called Lake Contrary that closed in 1964 Oh what fun I had on the carousel with all the beautiful colors of the horses. They even had real horse hair for their tales and manes. There were rides, boating, a dance hall, horse race track and huge arbor. Was so sad to see it destroyed by floods and wind damages. Thank you for helping relive some wonderful memories with this gorgeous creation. Have a wonderful weekend! “Hugs”

Lovely, lovely. Yes brings back memories of long ago and not so long ago. In Europe I had a lot of rides with my grandchildren when they were smaller. They always loved it…so did I.
