The Spell of Spring

Hello dear blog friends,

Another card from me to celebrate springtime. Although we are on the brink of winter in the southern hemisphere and the lovely autumn days are almost gone, I love to do cards with pretty, bright colours. My inspiration for this card is from the beautiful photo for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge this week. I must admit it was quite a challenge for me to  incorporate some of the elements in the photo to give a true reflection of the image on my card. After several mistakes which landed in the dustbin, I hope you like the result.

Challenges:

The lovely inspiration photo:

Here is my card

The sentiment stamp

The paper flowers, vintage for-get-me nots and butterflies

A peep at the inside, decorated with butterflies

Project details:

  • Kraft cardstock
  • Designer paper from Prima
  • Marianne Design Creatables birdcage die (LR0146)
  • Martha Stewart butterfly punches (Classic butterflies and Small monarch butterfly)
  • Whimsy sentiment stamp “Postage stamp sentiments”
  • Paper flowers and vintage Forget-me-nots
  • Lace
  • Hug Snug seam binding “Mauve”
  • Brown wax cord
  • Skwiglues glitter glue “Lemon Buzz”
  • Tim Holtz distress ink ‘Dusty corduroy”
  • Acrylic gesso

Thanks for stopping by today and for your time to look at my card – this is much appreciated. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting.

Regards from South Africa,

Amelia

Just beautiful Amelia, love all the elements and how you get so much on a card yet it never seems cluttered or overdone, unlike when I try this style, lol!
