Basket with Roses

Hello dear blog friends,

It is two weeks since I last posted a card, but time for crafting is less now that I am back at work after my sick leave. The knee healed well although there are still problems to overcome in the next three months.. Hopefully my walking will improve to such an extent that no further surgery will be necessary. But for today I have a  guest designer card to share with you. I made the card for the challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow, one of my favorite blogs. The theme for this week is Pearls and Swirls but your project must be in the vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired style. For the card I used a free vintage scrap from Antique Images. The picture is from a 1883 antique almanac and you can find it here. The lovely roses are from the Prima range “Romantique”. The fabric is a cream coloured organza with a beautiful golden shine. I teared the fabric in strips for a vintage and distressed effect. Hope you like the card and  don’t forget to visit Sugar Creek Hollow to see the stunning creations of the talented design team members.

Challenges:

The Prima “Romantique” roses and chipboard swirl

The 1883 vintage image “Woman with basket of roses”

The Whimsy sentiment

The inside decorated with a chipboard swirl

Project details:

  • Cream cardstock
  • Prima designer paper “Annalee”
  • Antique Images vintage scrap
  • Whimsy sentiment stamp
  • Prima “Avon Rose Romantique” and “Coventry Rose Romantique” paper roses
  • Pearls
  • Chipboard swirls
  • Organza fabric
  • Tim Holtz distress ink “Tea Dye” and “Old Paper”
  • Krylon gold leafing pen
  • Skwiglues glitter glue “Gold”

May your day be bright and beautiful with hours of crafting. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card. I appreciate your visit so much.

Regards from South Africa,

Amelia

I love your cards. Why are women in South Africa so talented in crafts? When I was into embroidery, my favorite designers were from South Africa, now card making – what’s up?. Did God start there first when he handed out crafting talent?

Morning dear Amelia, you have taken my breath away with this stunning creation. I think I could have lived in 1883. What a gorgeous stamp that is! A beautiful show of shabby chicness. Good luck with the challenges, you are sure to do very well. Pleased that you’re on the mend and back at work. Wishing you all the best as you recuperate further, hugs Sharon x
