Cherish The Moments

Hello blog friends,

It is Saturday again and that means a new challenge  at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week’s challenge is to clean out your craft room by using nothing but scraps and other items already in your stash – a really easy one. I think most of us have bits and pieces laying round in our craft rooms waiting to be pasted on a pretty card. The only restrictions for the challenge is that your card must be in the vintage or shabby chic style.

I found scraps of my Graphic45 designer paper and decided to do some fussy cutting of the flowers and clock on one of the papers to build my image. The vintage garden urn is from The Graphics Fairy . I printed this beautiful image a long time ago but totally forgot about it ’till searching through my stuff to complete my card for this challenge. A metal corner painted white, piece of  guipure lace, a cherub,  bits and pieces of pearl string and left over Prima flowers complete the picture. I strung the ribbon through tiny holes in the front and back of the card  to give the idea of  two pages bound together. It looks really pretty with the ribbon also showing on the inside of the card. Hope to see your card at Sugar Creek Hollow this fortnight. Our challenges will be running every two weeks, so you have more time to complete your projects.

I also entered  my card in the following challenges:

Joe, Amelia, die hoeveelheid detail waaraan jy aandag gee is net verstommend!! So goed beplan en bymekaargesit. Regtig iets besonders. (Die Graphic45 reekse is darem net altyd so pragtig ne; mal daaroor!). Jou uitsnywerk is baie netjies gedoen en jou strikke is perfek.
    Groete

Oh, Amelia, thank you for taking time to post all the photos. This card is so gorgeous. At first I thought it was a framed work of art, so I looked quickly at the bottom (like reading the end of a book first), to see if you showed the glimpse of the interior – and you had. Love those beautiful bows tied on the side. I have not quite figured out how you were able to accomplish those – possibly tied through a hole in the layers? But then there is that little loop peeking out the side. Beautiful ink and distressing around the edges, and those sweet little Victorian ornaments make your clock a masterpiece. A beautiful “still life” of Love – how do you ever know how to mix your flowers and colors like that? I have not learned to do that, yet, either. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card. hugs, de

This is unbelievably gorgeous – incredible what you’ve been able to create using scraps! I like how you’ve combined flowers with the stamped ones, the little angel and the clock are fantastic details, and I really like how you decorated the inside as well.
