Hello friends,
Spring arrived last Sunday for us in the Southern Hemisphere. We are already experiencing hot weather in Pretoria – seems as we have skipped the crisp and cool spring days. In our garden the roses started blooming this week and seeing this I enjoyed it so much to create this card for the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge this forthnight. The theme is “My Rose Garden” and we would like to see roses on your vintage or shabby chic project. The sponsor for this challenge is Heather Hudson and you can visit her shop on Etsy at My Artistic Adventures. The prize for one random winner is three collage sheets from her Etsy shop. From Heather’s beautiful collection of digital sheets she kindly supplied me with the “shabby green vintage rose tags collage sheet” for the challenge. I used my new Spellbinders D’Lites die “Gazebo” to create a garden scene. The beautiful tag is embellished with pearls and lace. I then printed a few more tags and fuzzy cut the roses to use with the paper roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. The inside of the card is also decorated with tags from the collage sheet.
I entered my card in the following challenges:
- 4 Krafty Girlz Challenge #1 (ends 09/19) – Anything Goes
- As You Like It Challenge #10 (ends 09/19) – Favorite Flower and Why (I love roses because they are so delicate with lovely colors. The paper flowers are such stunning replicas I always enjoy making cards with them)
- Crafty Ribbons Challenge #60 (ends 09/12) – Anything Goes with Ribbon
- Creative Moments Challenge #25 (ends 09/18) – Birthdays/Anything Goes
- Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge #143 (ends 09/11) – Spooled Items (Lace and Ribbon)

- Word Art Wednesday Challenge #96 (ends 09/11) – Anything Goes

Hi Amelia! Your card is absolutely gorgeous! I love the lush garden of tiny roses and how you combined digi roses with paper roses! Actually, I love every single detail! It’s fun to read that spring is arriving in Pretoria; here in Virginia, we’re reaching the end of a very long, hot summer! 🙂

If you don’t hear from me for awhile I’m having surgery on Monday and not sure how soon I’ll be able to get to use the computer or back to crafting. Hope not too long before I get to see you again. “Hugs” Carol
