Pick of the Bunch

Hello friends,

Greeting you from a lovely, mild winter’s day in South Africa. August is usually a “dusty” month for us with lots of windy days to ensure that we have some must needed spring showers in September. Yeah, this is the last month of  winter and with this in mind I created my card for the new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow with the theme “Summer Sunshine”. We would like to see cards or any other paper craft project with bright, summery colours. The card/project must be made in a vintage or shabby chic style.

I used a colourful vintage image from TuckDB for my card. I layered it on bright yellow and blue designer paper to match the flowers in the image. The chipboard butterfly is from Prima and the sentiment is from a free magazine cover gift I received a long time ago. Some lace, bright flower buttons, green wax cord, blue ribbon and flowers added a summery feel to the card. Hope you like my take on the challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow.

Baie oulik!!!

    Lekker week!!

What a cutie you’ve picked for the image with those round pink cheeks. Definitely a summer card with the beautiful color combination. The cord through the flower buttons really add to the dimension of the card and with the gorgeous lace and flowers is definitely a keeper. Your creations are also so full of warmth and comfort. Hugs!

This is so lovely Amelia – the image reminds me of Mabel Lucy Attwell (many of my blog friends here will know of her) I think it’s those little cheeks!! I love the colours and the embellishments, particularly the buttons on the thread. A lovely card.

Thank you for entering the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month, lots of luck.

Hugs to you Sue Pxxx DT
