Little Birdie …

Hello friends,

I have two clean and simple cards to share with you today.  A few weeks ago I bought my first Elizabeth Crafts dies and embossing folder from a local craft shop and what fun I had to play with these dies. I used the dies with some of my older Spellbinders dies and really like the outcome of this quick cards with a spring feel. It was ages since I last used an embossed background and doing so with these cards inspired me to take my forgotten stuff out of the cupboard and use them again.

I would like to enter my first card in the following challenges:

ECD_Birds1a

A close-up of the bird and button flowers

ECD_Birds1b

My second card with more shabby elements

ECD_Birds2a

A close-up of the distressing, roses and sequins

ECD_Birds2b

Project details for both cards:

  • White, blue, green and yellow cardstock
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs dies: 709 – Birds ; 724 – Best Wishes ; 722 – Hello
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs embossing folder: 118 – Spring Leaves
  • Spellbinders Shapeabilities Die D-Lites “Sprigs”
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities “Standard Circles Small” (Card 1)
  • Buttons (Card 1)
  • Roses, sequins and wax cord (Card 2)
  • Tim Holtz distress inks “Barn Door” (Card 1) and “Peacock Feathers” (Card 2)

Thanks for visiting today and looking at my card. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting.

Regards,

Amelia

This is so pretty and I’m in love with the embossed background pattern, it goes so perfectly with your design. And your little birdie is so sweet. Really love the design of your card and it was the black circles that caught my eye, fantastic idea. So glad you joined us at TIME OUT!!

What a great way of showing two distinct styles with the same design elements, Amelia! So pretty! I especially LOVE the first one with the bird peering through the circles resembling a nest. Beautiful cards.

Pragtig, Amelia!!!! Daai klein voeltjie is so mooi en ek’s mal oor die skattige knopies en rosies wat jy gebruik het om jou kaartjies daai iets ekstra te gee wat dit laat uitstaan!!!! Die embossing is pragtig!!! Baie mooi gedoen!!!
    Groete en geniet die week!!!
