“Sweet” Heart

Hello friends,

Greeting you from a very hot summer’s  day in Pretoria. On Monday I went back to work after a month-long holiday. I am going to miss the lazy days filled with crafting, reading and fun things to do. But today’s post is not about the weather or my holiday, it is about a card I created for a few challenges I saw on Paper Playful.

This card, in the shabby chic style, was inspired by the lovely photo at The Card Concept.  The little pink roses, pearls, bows and the grey, cream  and pink colors in the picture caught my eye and I took this as inspiration for my card. I also love the rustic feel of the picture and try to incorporate that as well in my card.

I made my shabby card in shades of pink, cream and grey and with a lovely lace heart die cut as focal point. The wood grain background paper was perfect to create the rustic feel. I added some pretty pink roses, wax cord bows, pearls and a die cut sentiment. This card was really quick to make and I love the soft look which make it suitable as a birthday, anniversary, valentine or wedding card.
