Teal and Red

Hello friends,

I hope you are all well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Teal and Red” – yes, this time it is a color challenge. You can create a card or project inspired by the photo and we want to see teal and red colors and added neutrals are also okay. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!

My shabby card is really simple to make. For interest I used a decorative die with circles as one of three layers on my card. I love the texture the die cut brings to the floral background of the card. I don’t want to cover too much of the die cut layer so I just added a fishtail banner for the sentiment and a few roses layered on wax cord bows. I finish off with red gemstone hearts. I hope you like my take on the challenge.

Challenges I entered:

The sentiment on a fishtail banner

The roses with a little bit of bling

Little red hearts in the circles for detail

A peep at the inside

Project details

White and teal cardstock — Floral designer paper — KaiserCraft decorative die “Mixed Media Circles” (DD786) — Spellbinders Designer Series (Wedding Collection) “Decorative Swallowtail Tags” (S5-258) — JustRite stamp set “All Occasion Nested Sentiments” (JB-09210) — Paper roses — Wax cord for bows — Gemstone hearts — Skwiglues “Crystal” — Tim Holtz distress ink “Antique Linen”

That’s it from me today! I hope you like my card. If you do, please leave a comment – I love reading them. Have a great day and happy crafting.

Regards,

Amelia

Ameilia, what a beautiful and creatively expressive design! The color combo is one of my favorites and you have chosen a composition that integrates the colors perfectly. Great design concept and beautifully executes.

Fantastic idea to use the pattern paper and a die over the top to make it better. Love all of the pictures that you provided on your blog. Love the inside and the outside too.

I love your gorgeous card showcasing the red and teal color scheme! So many beautiful details – red roses, little red heats, and the decorative circles die!
I’d love for you to link up to the brand new challenge over on Cropstop. (It’s always anything goes as long as you use a product or two from one of the companies carried in the store. You did!)
