Hello friends,
A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog . Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Nautical”. You can use the colors or patterns, or the images or anything you see in the mood board as inspiration for your creation. The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile.
My card was inspired by the red, blue and white colors in the photo. I decided to mix some nautical stamps and dies to create a masculine card. The sailboat was stamped on white card-stock and colored with Derwent Inktense pencils. The layer was then lifted from the blue base layer with mirror tape. For more dimension I cut a circle in the top layer to form a porthole frame for the sentiment. I embellished the top layer with die cuts, glitter, gemstones and a strip of hessian.
I entered my card in the following challenges:
- A Gem of A Challenge #222 (ends 07/05) – Red, White and Blue
- A Bit More Time To Craft Challenge #71 (ends 07/27) – Anything Goes
- Crafty Girls Creations Challenge #49 (ends 07/31) – Anything Goes

Beautiful watercolor. Love the border of die cuts on Hessian and how you popped up the image panel to frame the sentiment. There are so many wonderful ideas in these team samples, I’m feeling like I want to make more nautical cards. This is great for a guy, but not limited to guys. You did amazing, Amelia!
