Hello friends,
I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Watercolor”. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Let’s see some beautiful watercolors!
My clean and simple card features an image of a wild rose. The flower and leaves are so beautiful that there is no need for much embellishments. I used distress ink “Antique linen” to stamp the image and then colored it with my Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. I like the no-line watercoloring technique and was pleased with the outcome on this card. For dimension I lifted the main panel off the card base with mirror tape. I finished off with a few gemstones and a stamped sentiment.
I entered my card in the following challenges:
- Colour Crazy Challenge Week #12 (ends 04/12) – Anything Goes
- Addicted to Stamps Challenge #172 (ends 04/07) – Spring
- Pile It On Challenge #152 (ends 04/06) – Your Favorite Color and/or Rainbow (Favorite colors are Pink and Green)
- Happy Little Stampers April Watercolor Challenge (ends 04/30) – Anything Goes

PROJECT DETAILS
Watercolor paper — Green cardstock — Nellie’s Choice clear stamp Flowers “Wild Rose” (FLO018) — Sizzix stamps “Blooming Sentiments” (662766) — Memento dye ink “Tuxedo Black” — Tim Holtz distress ink “Antique Linen” — Candy Shoppe pink bubbles — Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils
I tried another card with the same image but in a happy yellow and orange color. I change the image a little bit by adding more green leaves. I always admire all the lovely watercolor cards and hopefully I can gain more confidence in creating these cards in future.
Thank you for visiting today! I hope you like this CAS creation. If you do, please leave a comment – I love reading them. Have a great day and happy crafting.

Amelia

You have created 2 super pretty cards, Amelia! Your flowers are so soft and seem to float off the card front. Great colour combinations with the bases! Thank you for joining us at HLS Watercolour Challenge this month!

The no-line water coloring is soooo very pretty. Few are able to make them look like this. Best to just leave it clean and simple.
