Falling Leaves

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog . Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme  “Orange and White only”. The team  created beautiful cards to DD_OrangeandWhiteinspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. And as always there is a prize for one lucky random winner!

I love to make cards with autumn colours and decided to use orange leaves on a white background. I used a swirly die cut for my background to give the idea of movement. I used my Prime watercolours to colour a piece of paper in light and dark tones of orange. The leaves are then die cut from the watercolour paper and adhered to the card with mirror tape for dimension. To finish off I added orange sequins and a sentiment. Hope you like my take on the challenge!

I entered my card in the following challenges:

  • Scrapy Land Challenges #123 (ends 10/16) – Anything Goes with a die cut from a brand that Scrapy Land sells (Dies: Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace die “A2 Swirl Background” (S5-366) — Lawn Fawn die “Stitched Leaves” (#LF577) — Creative Expressions Craft dies “Mini Expressions – Happy Birthday” (CEDME002) — Impression Obsession die “Mini Leaves” (DIE095-D))
  • {Pin}spirational #248 (ends 10/07) – Inspiration picture (I used the leaves as inspiration)

Beautiful design and colors. WOW. I don’t often do the inside of a card, but I see how it can add beauty to the inside of a card. So glad you joined us at Die Cut Divas.

Such a beautiful card. I love all the white with just a pop of orange, great take on the challenge. Wonderful texture with the background die cut, and sponging the leaves really gives them dimension. Gorgeous!!!
