Saying Hello…

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Darlene is hosting this challenge with the theme “Saying Hello”.  The team created beautiful cards to inspire you DD_Hello– a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile.

I was inspired by the beautiful pink colours in the photo as well as the roses. I use a whimsical rose stamp as focal point on my card and also a small border stamp to frame the image. I did the colouring with my water-colour pencils to match the colours of the background. I created the background for the roses with shimmer powder, distress inks and a stencil. The roses are fuzzy cut and then lifted of the base card with mirror tape for dimension. I finished off with a sentiment die cut, die cut stems and a few glitter stones.

Challenges I entered:

This is such a whimsical card, I love everything about it. Those stylized flowers are so stinkin’ cool, and I really like your colors with the black as an accent. Really makes that focal pop. Gorgeous card!!

These whimsical roses are so different for the usual ones. I am with Diane and may need these. I love how you put them on the front with the matching border and planted a little garden too.
