Sunflowers

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Darlene is hosting this challenge with the theme “Sunflowers”. This is such an easy challenge and most of us DD_Sunflowers_August19love flowers so I hope to see your card linked up at the Double D challenge blog. The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile.

I was surprised to see that I have only one sunflower stamp in my stash. Although it is a very old stamp I decided to create a watercolour card with it. I stamped the image on watercolour paper with distress ink and did the colouring with my Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils. I used a gingham paper as background and then lifted the top layer from the base card with mirror tape for dimension. I finished off with a die cut fence, a sentiment, gemstones and a wax cord bow.

    Well this is just fabulous. From the cute picket fence to the wonderful gingham background and the shabby chic look of the watercolor paper, this creation is definitely a winner. Your coloring is just spectacular too!!!!
