Trees

Hello fiends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Darlene is hosting this challenge with the theme “Trees”. This is such a fun challenge, I hope to see your card linked up at the Double D Challenge blog. The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile.

I used a cute die set I bought a while ago to create a slimline Christmas card. I die cut several pine trees and layered them with mirror tape, for dimension, on the gingham background.  I also used distress ink to add more colour and depth to them. The red car and red stars bring the necessary contrasting colour into the whole scene.  I finished off with an oversize gold mirror board sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

A close-up of the trees

The sentiment

A peep at the inside

Project details

White, green and red cardstock — Lime green gingham paper — Gold mirror board for sentiment — StudioLight die set “Winter Charm” (STENCILWC326) — Creative Expressions Craft die “Festive Mini Expressions – Stacked Merry Christmas” (CEDME014) — Red glitter stars — Tim Holtz distress inks ‘Mowed Lawn”

Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your thoughts in the comments below. Have a wonderful day!

Kind regards,

Amelia

I love this design. It tells a story too. The red inside is a perfect way to bring inside and outside together.

Oooh, this is simply adorable Amelia! Brings back memories of the time we went to a tree farm in our red jeep and came home with the tree tied on top, just like on your card. I love it!!
