Forest Friend

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog . Team Darlene is hosting this challenge with the theme “Begins with “M””. The team created beautiful cards to DD_BeginswithMinspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. And as always there is a prize for one lucky random winner!

I decided to use the moose as inspiration for my card. I stamped the image and then die cut it with the coordinating die. I painted the background with water-colour pencils, added some grass and then lifted the moose from the base card with mirror tape for dimension. I stamped the sentiment on a die cut oval. For interest I finish off with a few colourful wooden buttons.

I entered the following challenges:

Show Up and Shine!

Hello friends,

A clean and simple card to share today. Some of the ladies of the Double D team challenged each other to do a a card for the Addicted to CAS challenge. The idea is to lift our spirits, get us out of our daily routines and to do some crafting to help us mentally and emotionally. Please visit the ladies and share some love. The ladies who joined this challenge with me are:

Darlene

Birgit

Kathy

Diane

My card features a clear stamp set from Penny Black. I coloured the image with watercolour pencils, stamped a “quirky” sentiment to do justice to the cute little hedgie and his balloon. I added dimension to the card by lifting the panel off the card base with mirror tape. I finished off with glossy accents to the hearts and some pink star gemstones.

Challenges I entered:

Bunny Hop

Hello friends,

Today’s card is for the Cut It Up Challenge with the theme “Hopping Down the Bunny Trail (Easter)”. Actually there is a story behind this card as it is also part of another challenge – so let me explain. As most of us are in isolation, lock-down, quarantine, etc around the world, an awesome group of ladies challenged each other to do a Covid-19 Relief challenge. What a great idea to lift our spirits, get us out of our daily routines and  do some crafting to help us mentally and emotionally. At the bottom of my post you will find the names of these awesome group of ladies and links to there blogs that participate in this challenge. Please visit and share some love during this time when we all need a “cyber” hug!

I created my card in the shabby chic style in my favourite colours, cream, pink and green. The cheerful bunnies are part of a new die set I purchased recently and I love them.  They are so happy and to do them justice I layered them on a pastel floral background. The doodling on the die cut bunnies was inspired by a card I saw at sarascloset. I  added  two layers of entwined green circles to frame the happy couple. For a “Spring” feeling I added soft pink roses, leaves and gemstones. I finished of with a marker sign and sentiment.

Forest Peekers …

Hello friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D hosted by Team Diane. The theme for this challenge is “Featured” and we want you to choose an DD_Featuredobject from the mood board and make it the ‘feature’ on your card. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog.

For my card I used deer as my featured object. This idea comes from the inspiration photo right top panel in the last row. They are so adorable and it was great fun to put all the die cut parts together to let them come to life.  I made a colourful background with distress oxide inks, added a few pretty flowers, leaves and a little bow for a boho feel. To finish off I added a die cut sentiment. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

Jungle Friends

Hello friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D hosted by Team Diane. The theme for this challenge is “It’s A Jungle Out DD_JungleThere” – so let’s see something to do with a jungle. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog.

For my card I used  two little monkeys as focal point. They are so adorable and it was great fun to put all the die cut parts together to let them come to life. Some die cut leaves and colorful flowers on a pretty floral background give a “jungle” feel to the card. I added the swinging monkeys with mirror tape for dimension. To finish off I added a “Happy birthday” sentiment. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

  • Scrapy Land Challenges #119 (ends 08/28)- Anything Goes with a die cut from a brand that Scrapy Land sells (Dies: PoppyStamps die “Weeping Willow Branch” (Style 2024) — Sizzix Thinlits die set (Tim Holtz Alterations) “Funky Florals #3” (662702) — Sizzix Thinlits die set (Tim Holtz Alterations) “Funky Florals #1” (662700)
