Three Bunnies

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “When Skies are Gray”. Just look at the pretty mood board – use some gray and also add
patterns, textures and objects from board. The Design Team have created a bunch of beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. We have also a fun prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by

This card was a challenge for me as I struggled to get gray colored paper between my heaps of papers. At the end of a long search I found a few leftovers from previous projects to layered my background. For the pattern component I added a Spellbinders flower die cut and polka dot paper. A strip of lace for texture forms the basis for the happy bunnies. I finished off with white roses, waxed cord bows, pearls, white hearts and a “Best wishes” sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Welcome Baby

Hello friends,

Happy New Year to all my followers and visitors. Your visits and comments during 2014 are greatly appreciated and never once taken for granted. Thank you so much for sharing my passion and I wish you all good health, peace and fulfillment in the coming year.

Today I am sharing a baby card I made for a friend’s neighbour who was blessed with a baby girl. I used one of my favourite color combo’s – green and pink – and did some paper piecing for the Marianne Design Creatables vintage pram die cut. Some fancy buttons, a cheerful bunting, bows and Prima roses were added as embellishments. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Hello everyone,

Another lovely Saturday and time for a new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we would love to see baby cards in the shabby or vintage style. The uber talented Starr Timmons is joining us as a Guest Designer this Saturday. You can visit her blog The Paper Chase to see more of her beautiful work.

For my take on the challenge this week I used an illustration from Antique Images for my background. The lovely  pastel colored vintage baby illustration is from a 1915 baby book. The baby carriage die cut is from Marianne Design Creatables. The sentiment is my own computer creation. The lovely velvet For-get-me nots were purchased from a local vintage craft market. Baby cards are a bit difficult for me  but I hope you like my creation.

A Baby Girl!

Hello friends,

I am glad to be back in blog land again after the hustle and bustle of the festive season. I enjoyed  spending time with friends and family, reading and doing holiday things so much that there wasn’t any time left for crafting during the past two weeks. Everything is back to normal here and  I still have one week for myself before going back to work (happy me!). Hope you all had a wonderful time too and that the new year will be filled with joy, love and laughter for you and your loved ones. Today is also time for a new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow and the theme for this week’s challenge is Celebrate Something New. We want you to create vintage or shabby chic cards that reflect either the New Year or perhaps a new home, or new job, or new baby. I decided to make a card for a new baby. I used a Cottage Cutz die  for the carousel and embellished the card in the shabby style.  The sentiment was computer generated and framed in a Sizzix Framelits die cut – a new addition to my crafting stuff.

I submitted my card in the following challenges:
