Autumn Time

Hello friends

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Leaves”. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!

I love to make cards with autumn colours – the browns, oranges, reds and yellows are so warm and earthy. I decided to create a shabby card with a rustic feel for this challenge. I painted a few scraps of papers with my watercolour paints and then die cut the leaves with different sized dies. I layered a scribble circle on a rustic designer paper background and then added the autumn leaves with mirror tape for dimension.  A few green sprigs are also added for more interest. I finished off with a gold die cut sentiment and a wax cord bow. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

  • Dies R Us Challenge #177 (ends 09/27) – Always Anything Goes with a brand they sell (Dies: Paper Rose die “Scribble Circle Large” (17394) — Lawn Cuts custom craft die “Stitched Leaves” (Item #LF577) — Impression Obsession dies “Small Leaves” (DIE095-D) — Poppy Stamps die “Leafy Sprig” (Style No 1001) — Creative Expressions Craft dies Mini Expressions “Stacked Happy Birthday” (CEDME074))

I painted a few scraps of papers with my watercolour paints and then die cut the leaves with different sizes of dies. I layered branches on a “stone wall” background die cut. I then add the leaves with mirror tape for dimension and lightly dusted the edges of the leaves with gold glitter. I finished off with a die cut sentiment. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

My inspiration for the challenge was the lovely neutral colours and the touch of green in the picture. I used cream card-stock for the base card and then add designer paper for the background. I framed the cute squirrel in a leafy die cut frame and then add the leaves, bows and a few pearls. I finished off with a die cut sentiment. This was such an easy card to make and I love the shabby feel of it.

The team  created beautiful cards to DD_OrangeandWhiteinspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. And as always there is a prize for one lucky random winner!

My inspiration for the challenge was the lovely warm Fall colors, leaves and the wood grain frame in the picture.  I used kraft paper for my base card and then layered several die cut leaves on a wood grain designer paper. I used my Prime watercolors to create the lovely shades of yellow, orange and brown for the leaves. I finished of with a die cut sentiment which is a combo of 2 different die sets and a few gem stones. This was such an easy card to make and I love the warm and shabby feel of it.

Harvest Blessings

Hello friends,

Greeting you from a very hot summers day in South Africa, We are midst a heat wave with temperatures rising during daytime to 38 degree ca-dd-nov-insp2-tileCelsius. I think the best place to be is in the swimming pool or in front of an air cooler. But despite the heat I am excited to share my card with you for the new challenge over at Double D Challenges today. The theme of the challenge is “Harvest Blessings and Give Thanks”.

I was inspired by the acorns and leaves as well as the colors in the picture. The pretty background paper on my card is from Lilac and Lavender and although you can’t see much of it I love the colors and letters popping through the die cut leaves. For dimension on the card I added layers of autumn colored and green  leaves. For embellishments I used some copper acorns and gold pearls and finished of with a wax cord bow. Hope you like today’s card
