Dreaming of a White Christmas

Hello friends,

Another Christmas card for the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme for this fortnight is “Dreaming of a White Christmas”. The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile and as always there is a lovely ca-dd-white-4-tileprize to win!

I used the white and silver colors in the tile as inspiration for my card. For my white creation I decided on lots of texture, layering, embossing, embellishments and also distressing. The star is cut with a Spellbinders die and layered on an embossed music background. To give a soft feel to the card I added a piece of lace and a white bow. For sparkle I covered the star with crystal glitter, add some silver die cut snowflakes and berries. The sentiment is cut with a Paper Smooches die.

Polka Dot Fun

Hello friends,

Where did the time go? But I don’t mind because it is time for our new challenge at Double D Challenges. The challenge this fortnight is really easy with the theme “Anything Goes with Polka Dots”. The inspiration board  is so beautiful – I just love all the colors and dots! Please ca dd pd4-tilevisit the Double D Challenge blog and see more wonderful samples from our talented designers and join in the fun! We have a fun prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org. and a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I was inspired by the different colors in the photo and decided on colorful polka dot paper and pink background. I used a Marianne Design Craftables “basket” die cut for the pretty paper roses and layered it on a pink paper doily. I kept the card simple, but still shabby, by adding some sequins, butterflies, an embossed dot strip and a wax cord bow.  The sentiment was cut with a  Spellbinders Shapeabilities  sentiment die.

Challenges I entered:

Hello friends,

Greeting you from a very hot summer day in South Africa.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your visits during 2015. I wish you all happy holidays and a Merry Christmas. Enjoy this very special and festive time with your family and loved ones.

Today I am posting my project for The Shabby Tea Room. The challenge at The Shabby Tea Room is called “Winter Wonderland” and the winner of this challenge will receive a $20 gift certificate from the Paper Sweeties boutique!

For my card I used lovely blue rosettes and silver snowflakes layered on an embossed background. The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties layered on a Spellbinders die cut. Although it is mid-summer in South Africa I really love creating this card.

Sweet Roses

Hello there,

A shabby chic card to share for the latest challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. I used the lovely inspiration photo to create this card with a faux chalkboard background. I used  a piece of designer paper from Prima  “Tea Thyme” collection which I distressed with white craft paint. I stamped and wet embossed a JustRite sentiment with white embossing powder on the background paper. The die cut basket is from Marianne Design Craftables and filled with lots of pink and white roses. The wood texture strip at the bottom is stamped with an Impression Obsession stamp and TH distress ink “Vintage photo”.To finished off I added some greenery, a piece of lace and a few tiny butterflies and pink gemstones. The card will be presented in a envelobox because of the many flowers.
