Hello friends,
A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Summer Gingham”. The team have created a bunch of beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. We have also a fun prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org.
Now onto the details of my summer card for the new challenge. I used my brushstroke flower dies to created 3 different flowers for my floral arrangement. I die cut the flowers from white cardstock, colour them with distress inks and then assemble all the small pieces to create depth and dimension. I spray the coloured flowers with a little bit of water to get the watercolour effect. While still damp I shaped the leaves to add a little more dimension to the flowers. The leaves were die cut from two shades of green card-stock, glued together and then distress with ink. The floral arrangement was then layered on pink gingham paper. I finished off with a die cut sentiment which was die-cut several times from white and pink cardstock to give a raised effect. Hope you like my take on the challenge.
I entered my card in the following challenges:
- Dies R Us Challenge #172 (ends 07/13) – Always Anything Goes with a brand they sell (Dies: Sizzix Thinlits die “Brushstroke flowers #3” (665360) — Sizzix Thinlits die “Brushstroke flowers #2” (665210) — Sizzix Thinlits Colorize die “Bloom, Colorize” (665208) — Impression Obsession sentiment die “Best Wishes” (DIE386-F)
