Harvest Blessings

Hello friends,

Greeting you from a very hot summers day in South Africa, We are midst a heat wave with temperatures rising during daytime to 38 degree ca-dd-nov-insp2-tileCelsius. I think the best place to be is in the swimming pool or in front of an air cooler. But despite the heat I am excited to share my card with you for the new challenge over at Double D Challenges today. The theme of the challenge is “Harvest Blessings and Give Thanks”.

I was inspired by the acorns and leaves as well as the colors in the picture. The pretty background paper on my card is from Lilac and Lavender and although you can’t see much of it I love the colors and letters popping through the die cut leaves. For dimension on the card I added layers of autumn colored and green  leaves. For embellishments I used some copper acorns and gold pearls and finished of with a wax cord bow. Hope you like today’s card

Pumpkin Time

Hello friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Pumpkin Time”. You can create a card or project inspired by the photo and we want to see those pumpkins! For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the ca-dd-oct-insp3-tileDouble D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!

I was inspired by the colors and beautiful pumpkin decorations in the photo.I use a stone urn die cut for one of the pumpkins and layered several leaf die cuts to make a wreath on the edge of the urn. The pumpkins are a free coloring page from Co-good.com and you can download it here. I colored the images with my Derwent Inktense water-color pencils and fussy cut the leaves and pumpkins. I the layered the images on designer background paper and strips of washi and lace tape. The sentiment die cut is from Spellbinders.

Thankful

Hi there and welcome!

A card to share for the new challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. The theme for our challenge this time is “Thankful” with a beautiful photo for inspiration. You are welcome to submit any type of project and remember only our name is ‘shabby’, your design need not be! Our sponsor for this challenge is Great Impressions Rubber Stamps , but for more information hop over to The Shabby Tea Room.

For my card I used a stamp from Impression Obsession to create the wooden planks for the background .Taking inspiration from the photo, I used the autumn colors and also burlap and cord. I’ve used several different dies on this card for the embellishments and listed them in my project details. I added some flourishes, leaves, butterflies and roses in shades of brown. The sentiment is from a Sizzix stamp and Framelits die set and the lovely window die from Spellbinders. Hope this card will inspire you to create something for our challenge!
