Flamingo

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Tropical”. Please visit Double D Challenges and see more DD_Tropicalwonderful samples from our talented designers and join in the fun! We have a prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org. and a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I decided to use a pretty pink flamingo die cut to give my card a tropical “flavor”. I have this die cut for ages in my stash and think it is from a Cricut cassette. For my background I used floral designer paper and for interest added a hemstitch frame. I added a lot of different shaped die cut leaves to layer the flamingo on. I finished off with a sentiment, some blossoms and a few pink sequins.

I am playing along in the following challenges:

Block Pattern

Hello friends,

A card to share for the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme from Team Darlene for our two weekly challenge this time is “Pick a Pattern” – the pattern must be DD_Patternsthe focus of your creation. Please visit the Double D Challenge blog and see the wonderful samples from Double “D”s talented designers and join in the fun!

Now onto the details of my card for this challenge. I created my card in the shabby chic style using four postage stamp “quilt” blocks as the focal point. With this layout I created a quilt pattern on the card. I used striped pattern paper for my background layer and floral designer paper for the blocks. The blocks were lifted from the base layer with mirror tape for dimension. The blocks were then decorated with small die cut hearts, a cat, die cut sentiment and a floral wreath. The final touches were paper roses and silver gemstones.  Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I also entered my card in the following challenges:

Rosy Picket Fence

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Rose Garden”. Be inspired by what you see, maybe it’s the DD_RoseGardencolors, flowers, the lamp post or even the picket fence. Also use roses handmade, stamped, die cut or purchased. Please visit Double D Challenges and see more wonderful samples from our talented designers and join in the fun! We have a prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org. while a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I decided to use the right bottom tile as inspiration for my card. I love the pretty white picket fence with the pink roses and the green foliage. I used designer paper for my background and the added the picket fence with the birdhouses with mirror tape for dimension. I glued two die cuts together for the fence and extended the one birdhouse pole for a better coverage of the card front.  I finished off with a sentiment, a lace strip, a bow, leaves and lots of pink roses. A few gemstones are the final touches. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

The Pink Hat

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Kentucky Derby Hat Inspiration”.  Be inspired by what you see DD_Hatson these hats, maybe it’s the colors, flowers even the horse. It does not have to be a hat! Please visit Double D Challenges and see more wonderful samples from our talented designers and join in the fun! We have a prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org. while a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I decided to use the right bottom tile as inspiration for my Mother’s Day card. I love the combination of black and pink, so pretty. I used several layers of black and white cardstock, designer paper and some pretty lace as base for the pink die cut hat. I embellished the hat with die cut feathers, a small buckle, a rose and some glitter stones. I finished off with a stamped sentiment on a tag, bows, leaves and roses. A few hearts were the final touches.

Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I added my stamped circle sentiment with mirror tape for dimension as well as the clock handles. I finished off with a few black and white buttons  for interest.

Watercolor Rose

Hello friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Watercolor”. For more information about the challenge and DD_Watercolorthe lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Let’s see some beautiful watercolors!

My clean and simple card features an image of a wild rose. The flower and leaves are so beautiful that there is no need for much embellishments. I used distress ink “Antique linen” to stamp the image and then colored it with my Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. I like the no-line watercoloring technique and was pleased with the outcome on this card.  For dimension I lifted the main panel off the card base with mirror tape. I finished off with a few gemstones and a stamped sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:
