Spring

Hello friends,

We are celebrating “Spring” at Double D Challenges and I hope you can join us this week DD_Springwith your flower creations. Although we are on the brink of winter in the southern hemisphere and the lovely autumn days are almost gone, I love to do cards with pretty flowers. With such a lovely inspiration photo you can just let the creative juices flow. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge – we would love to see your card.

I used a flowery background paper for my base layer and then added delicate die cut vines in a wreath pattern.  The flower bouquets are arranged on the vines to match the flower pattern of the designer paper. I added  vintage bird cages, silver bows and pearls. I finished off with a die cut sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Snuggle Up

Hello friends,

A card to share for the new Double D Challenge starting today. The theme for our two weekly challenge this time is “Snuggle Up Buttercup”.  The inspiration picture says it all – think warm and cozy! For more information about the challenge and the prize up for grabs visit the Double D Challenge blog and start creating – we would love to see your card.

I decided to make a Christmas card, my first one for this year! I love the tile with the adorable little cat and the red blanket and an old Penny Black critter stamp came to my rescue. The cat looks so happy and cozy with his little mouse friend!  I used craft cardstock for a rustic look and kept the layout simple. I added a tree created with die cut leaves and added some stars to the “branches”.  To finish off I added a die cut sentiment, a hanging red star and golden bows.  The coloring was done with my Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Santa

Hello friends,

November is here … and Christmas is on our doorstep! I have my first Christmas card for this year to share today at the Double D Challenge blog . Team Darlene is hosting this challenge with the theme of “Here comes Santa”. I was inspired by the picture of Santa Claus  as well as the brown tones in the inspiration board. The team have created beautiful cards – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile.

I decided to create a rustic Christmas card with kraft colors. The design is very easy and ideal for mass production. I layered a strip of music paper on my kraft base card. The stamped Santa image was layered on a lacey circle die cut and lifted of the base card with mirror tape. For the traditional Christmas colors I added some greenery and red “gem stone” berries. A sentiment, a little bit of gold glitter and a tiny gold bow are the final touches to my card. The distressed edges adds a perfectly aged, weathered look.   Hope you like my take on the Double D Challenge “Here comes Santa Claus”.

Pretty Pastels

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the lovely theme of “Pastel Party”.  The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. The prize to win for this challenge is a beautiful flower die and absolutely gorgeous!

I was inspired by the beautiful colors in the photo. I use a Couture Creations Intricutz die “French Bicycle” as focal point on my card. I created a  background for the bicycle with Cosmic Shimmer Pixie powder. I love the shimmer of these powders. On the photo it looks much brighter than in real life! The fun part for me is always to arrange the flowers and I really like the shabby outcome of this card. I finished off with a sentiment die cut from Impression Obsession, a little bit of glitter, bows and a few gem stones on the sentiment.

Challenges I entered:
