The Pink Hat

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Kentucky Derby Hat Inspiration”.  Be inspired by what you see DD_Hatson these hats, maybe it’s the colors, flowers even the horse. It does not have to be a hat! Please visit Double D Challenges and see more wonderful samples from our talented designers and join in the fun! We have a prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org. while a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I decided to use the right bottom tile as inspiration for my Mother’s Day card. I love the combination of black and pink, so pretty. I used several layers of black and white cardstock, designer paper and some pretty lace as base for the pink die cut hat. I embellished the hat with die cut feathers, a small buckle, a rose and some glitter stones. I finished off with a stamped sentiment on a tag, bows, leaves and roses. A few hearts were the final touches.

Hope you like my take on the challenge.

Feeling Green …

Hello friends,

Today’s creation is a cute card, inspired by the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme is “Feeling Green” and with a lovely inspiration photo (see bottom of my post) you can create anything in shades of green and can even add an optional pop of red. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog and get inspired to link up your creation.

I love this stamp from Crafter’s Companion’s “Strawberry Kisses” range. The kitty is so cute taking a nap in the tea-cup! I did the coloring with my Derwent Inktense water-color pencils, add a strip of polka dot paper and a bow – I think that is enough to do justice to this adorable image. The sentiment is cut with a Penny Black word die.

For My Mum

Hello friends,

A card for a special mother to share today. I decided not to use designer paper as background but strips of washi tape and a Spellbinders heart shape die cut. The watering can is from a Paper Sweeties die cut and stamp set “Showering You With Love”. I added a few tiny roses, leaves, gemstones, bow and a sentiment and all is done. I love the simplicity of the card although it still have the shabby chic look.

I would love to enter my card in the following challenges:

Forever Yours …

Hello friends,

Today I have a cute card to share  with you. It feels like ages since I last used my aquarelle pencils for coloring and worked with cute images. I have the image stamped ages ago but never sat down to make a card with it. It is really busy at work since the beginning of the year and time for my hobby is so limited – hopefully things will calm down.

I am an animal lover and working in a Veterinary Science Library, animal stamps are always a popular choice for me. This cute stamp is from the Crafter’s Companion range Everyday with Barkley “Special Friend”. Those two adorable faces really portray a perfect animal heaven on earth. For the layers I used designer paper from Iralamija and a Spellbinders die cut “Fancy Lattice”. The leafy branch is from Marianne Design Creatables. Hope you enjoy my card as much as I have in creating it.

I  entered my card in the following challenges:
