Christmas Time

Hello friends,

A Christmas card to share – my first one this year.  I have the honor to be a guest designer for Let’s Craft and Create Challenges today. Mary asked me to play along with the Christmas/ New Year challenge starting today on the blog. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of  this lovely challenge.

My card is created in traditional Christmas colors of green red and gold. To capture our summer Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere I used some kraft, brown and cream colors as well for a more rustic look. I layered the Christmas tree on music paper and added a bow with berries and little tags. To add a fun and festive feel to the card I used lots of red and gold stars. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

Challenges I entered:

Polka Dot Fun

Hello friends,

Where did the time go? But I don’t mind because it is time for our new challenge at Double D Challenges. The challenge this fortnight is really easy with the theme “Anything Goes with Polka Dots”. The inspiration board  is so beautiful – I just love all the colors and dots! Please ca dd pd4-tilevisit the Double D Challenge blog and see more wonderful samples from our talented designers and join in the fun! We have a fun prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by and a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I was inspired by the different colors in the photo and decided on colorful polka dot paper and pink background. I used a Marianne Design Craftables “basket” die cut for the pretty paper roses and layered it on a pink paper doily. I kept the card simple, but still shabby, by adding some sequins, butterflies, an embossed dot strip and a wax cord bow.  The sentiment was cut with a  Spellbinders Shapeabilities  sentiment die.

Summer Butterflies

Hello friends,

Today’s creation is a shabby chic card, inspired by the new challenge at Double D Challenges. I am joining Team Darlene for this fun Purplechallenge. The theme is “Shades of Purple”. With such a lovely inspiration photo you can create anything in shades of purple. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!

I was inspired by the rosettes and butterflies in the picture and made it my focal point on the card.I added lots of gemstones and glitter, some vines, lace and paper roses for a shabby/vintage feeling. The sentiment is a Poppystamp die and I just love the vintage font. For the project list of dies used please scroll down to the end of my post.
