Simply Sepia

Hello everyone,

Hope you  enjoyed a wonderful weekend. I managed to fit in a few hours crafting this weekend although I just want to be outside enjoying the wonderful spring weather that arrived in South Africa. The theme “Monochromatic” at The Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week captured my imagination. Monochromatic is challenging for me as I love to use lots of colours on my cards. I decided to take up the challenge and try a Penny Black critter on a vintage themed card! I used this same Penny Black stamp a few weeks ago with red, white, green and black colours but this week I gave the little guy a vintage look with sepia colours – I love brown and cream combinations. Unfortunately I couldn’t find brown flowers in my stash, but for a touch of softness to the dark brown background these cream organza flowers with lace was my choice. I don’t know if I do justice to the challenge but hopefully you will enjoy my creation.
