Love You Mum

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “DD_FlowersOfTheMonth_May5Flowers of the Month – January thru June”. For a list of flowers for each month please visit the Double D Challenge blog. The team created beautiful cards to inspire you – so a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile.

I was inspired by the beautiful pink roses in the photo and decided to make a Mother’s Day card for Mum. For the background I used a beautiful designer paper from an Asuka paper pad – I just love this floral wreath! I added pink roses and a variety of die cut leaves on the on side of the wreath. A little birdie and another fancy die cut wreath were place inside the floral wreath as a focal point. I finished off with a die-cut sentiment and a little heart. I really like the shabby outcome of this card.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

  • Dies R Us Challenge #168 (ends 05/13) – Always Anything Goes with a brand they sell (Dies: Memory Box “Hutton Wreath” (Style 94008) — Sizzix Thinlits “Feathered Friends” (664433) — Sizzix Thinlits “Garden Greens” (661206) — Creative Expressions craft die “Berry Bough” (CED3104))

A Thousand Years To Wait …

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Book Covers”. You can use anything you see on these covers on the inspiration photo: colours – images – words! In your post please tell us what it was that inspired you from the covers. The team have created a bunch of beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. We have also a fun prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org.

I was inspired by the flowers, fine script of the title and the oval shape of the book cover in the top right panel. I used floral designer paper, layered on black card-stock, as background. I die cut a fancy oval from black paper to frame the silver sentiment. I finished off with flowers, rosehip stems, silver leaves, bows and a few grey gemstones. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Don’t Fence Me In!

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Darlene is hosting this challenge with the theme “Don’t Fence Me In”. The inspiration picture says it all, we want to see a fence on your creation. The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile.

I decided to create a shabby birthday card. I used kraft card-stock and designer paper for the background layers. I added a white picket fence at the bottom of the card with mirror tape for dimension. To create a spring scene (it is spring in South Africa now) I added leaves, blossoms, rabbits, birds and birdhouses. I finished off with a die cut sentiment.

I also entered my card in the following challenges:

  • All Fun Challenges #15 (ends 09/27) – Anything Goes
