A Friend Is …

Hello friends,

Time for a new challenge at Double D Challenges. I am joining Team Darlene for this challenge with the theme of “Friendship”. Looking at the mood board I decided to use the tile with the sentiment as inspiration for my vintage card. Please visit the Double D challenge blog and see more wonderful samples from Double “D”s talented designers and join in the fun!

I used a vintage scrap and designer paper from the Graphic 45 series”Secret Garden” for my background. I then stamped my sentiment on a beautiful oval die cut and layered it with mirror tape on the base card for a bit of dimension. I finished off with wax cord bows, paper roses, pearls, a heart and glitter. This was a  quick and easy vintage card to make and I hope the recipient will love it.

Cherish The Moments

Hello blog friends,

It is Saturday again and that means a new challenge  at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week’s challenge is to clean out your craft room by using nothing but scraps and other items already in your stash – a really easy one. I think most of us have bits and pieces laying round in our craft rooms waiting to be pasted on a pretty card. The only restrictions for the challenge is that your card must be in the vintage or shabby chic style.

I found scraps of my Graphic45 designer paper and decided to do some fussy cutting of the flowers and clock on one of the papers to build my image. The vintage garden urn is from The Graphics Fairy . I printed this beautiful image a long time ago but totally forgot about it ’till searching through my stuff to complete my card for this challenge. A metal corner painted white, piece of  guipure lace, a cherub,  bits and pieces of pearl string and left over Prima flowers complete the picture. I strung the ribbon through tiny holes in the front and back of the card  to give the idea of  two pages bound together. It looks really pretty with the ribbon also showing on the inside of the card. Hope to see your card at Sugar Creek Hollow this fortnight. Our challenges will be running every two weeks, so you have more time to complete your projects.

I also entered  my card in the following challenges:
