Shabby Chic Holiday

Hello friends,

This will be my last post before Christmas and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your visits during 2014. I wish you all happy holidays and a Merry Christmas. Enjoy this very special and festive time with your family and loved ones.

I have another pink Christmas card I put together and want to share with you. Fortunately it is hand delivered and will still be in time. Once again I used the lovely inspirational picture at The Shabby Tea Room  to create this last-minute card. I love the soft pastel pink, aqua, silver and ivory and added  lots of glitter and silver mesh to bling it up for a shabby Christmas feel. I stamped and wet embossed the Christmas tree with silver , added some pearls, silver bling and roses and then layered the stamped image on a beautiful die cut from Wild Rose Studio. Two silver bells, aqua wax cord , a silver star and pink heart complete the card. The sentiment die cut is from Spellbinders.

Cherry on Top

Hello everyone,

Another lovely challenge at The Shabby Tea Room this week with the theme “Classic Patterns”.  The challenge is to use the colors, green, pink, red and white and also polka dots and/or gingham. You can see the inspiration photo here. The cupcake image (or maybe it is an ice cream) is from a local rubber stamping company, Great Impressions (South Africa).  Great fun to colour this image, especially the cherry. I added  glossy accents to the cherry and lots of glitter to the icing sugar for shine.

I entered my card for the following challenges:

The Purple Hat

Hi everyone,

Today I want to share a card with you I made for the challenge at The Play Date Cafe. Ruby 2 Shoes, designer at the Play Date Cafe, host the challenge and the following magnificent photo is the inspiration for the color challenge this week:

The colours remind me of happy spring colours but also showcase a gentle touch of softness. For my card I used a stamp from a local stamp company, Great Impressions (South Africa), and layered the image on purple and blue tissue paper to add softness. Hope you like my card. I linked the card to the following challenges:

I used the following to create the card:

  • White, purple and blue cardstock
  • Purple and blue tissue paper
  • Great Impressions (South Africa) stamp F1645
  • Chriswick clear stamp “Script”
  • Marianne Design Creatables  LR0116
  • Guipere lace
  • Pearls
  • Seam binding
  • Paper roses
  • Lyra-Rembrandt Aquarelle water-colour pencils
  • Stickles “Lavender”
  • Skwiglues “Baby Blue”

And that is my creation for the weekend, I would love to hear what you think of my effort. Have a wonderful week and happy crafting.
