Christmas Bow

Hello friends,

A clean and simple Christmas card to share today. I decided to join a few Christmas themed challenges and with Christmas just around the corner it is a perfect opportunity to add another Christmas card to my stash . I stamped a music strip in black, add a gold die cut reindeer and then embellished it with a red bow, some green leaves and red glitter gemstones.  The sentiment is cut with a Crealies text die. To add dimension to the card I lift the top panel off the card base with mirror tape. Clean and simple cards are always a challenge for me , I hope this one will do justice to CAS!

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Something Blue and Coral …

Hello friends,

A card to share for the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme for our two weekly challenge this time is “June Wedding” with a color combo of blue and coral/peach. It does not have to be a wedding card…just use the colors! For more information about the challenge ca dd cb1-tileand the prize up for grabs visit the Double D Challenge blog and start creating – we would love to see your card this fortnight.

I always love to make cards in the shabby style and the inspiration tile just fits this style perfectly. I used several layers of distressed paper for the base of the card. As background for the flower bouquet I used an Impression Obsession stamp “Wooden plank”. For a bit of extra shabbiness I add a  Marianne Design  Creatables die cut doily and vintage lace. To finish off I added pretty flowers in different shades of blue and coral, white sprigs, a flower border, gemstone hearts and a bow. The sentiment is a Penny Black creative die ” For you”.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Winter Time …

Hello friends,

Time for our second challenge at Double D Challenges. I am joining Team Darlene for this fortnight’s challenge with the theme “Brrr! Winter” The inspiration board (see bottom of my post) is so beautiful it inspired me to created a card. Please visit the Double D challenge blog and see more wonderful samples from Team Darlene’s talented designers and join in the fun!

I was inspired by the trees, birds and the brown, white and red colors in the photo. I used an Impression Obsession “wood texture” stamp for the background. I kept the card simple by adding a branch and red bird layered on a white oval as focus point. “Snowflakes” in the form of pearls were added to complete the winter scene. The sentiment was cut with a Marianne Design Creatables die.

Hi there and welcome!

A card to share for the new challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. The theme for our challenge this time is “Thankful” with a beautiful photo for inspiration. You are welcome to submit any type of project and remember only our name is ‘shabby’, your design need not be! Our sponsor for this challenge is Great Impressions Rubber Stamps , but for more information hop over to The Shabby Tea Room.

For my card I used a stamp from Impression Obsession to create the wooden planks for the background .Taking inspiration from the photo, I used the autumn colors and also burlap and cord. I’ve used several different dies on this card for the embellishments and listed them in my project details. I added some flourishes, leaves, butterflies and roses in shades of brown. The sentiment is from a Sizzix stamp and Framelits die set and the lovely window die from Spellbinders. Hope this card will inspire you to create something for our challenge!

Beautiful Blooms …

Hello everyone,

I was surprised to see it was three weeks ago since I last posted a card on my blog – time just flies! But it is good to be back today and share a card that I created for the current challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. The inspiration picture is so beautiful and I tried to capture as many elements in the photo as possible: the bicycle, blooms, banner and wooden planks. The background paper is from the Prima “Tea-Thyme” collection. I stamped the wooden planks  with an Impression Obsession background stamp, cut it in small strips, distressed the pieces and glued them onto the background paper. The die cuts and flowers are distressed with white paint to give the card a shabby look. As springtime is the most loved season for me, I added some hearts, bling and a sentiment “Celebrate” to welcome this wonderful time of the year.
