Teal and Red

Hello friends,

I hope you are all well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Teal and Red” – yes, this time it is a color challenge. You can create a card or project inspired by the photo and we want to see teal and red colors and added neutrals are also okay. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!

My shabby card is really simple to make. For interest I used a decorative die with circles as one of three layers on my card. I love the texture the die cut brings to the floral background of the card. I don’t want to cover too much of the die cut layer so I just added a fishtail banner for the sentiment and a few roses layered on wax cord bows. I finish off with red gemstone hearts. I hope you like my take on the challenge.

Challenges I entered:

The sentiment on a fishtail banner

The roses with a little bit of bling

Little red hearts in the circles for detail

Project details

White and teal cardstock — Floral designer paper — KaiserCraft decorative die “Mixed Media Circles” (DD786) — Spellbinders Designer Series (Wedding Collection) “Decorative Swallowtail Tags” (S5-258) — JustRite stamp set “All Occasion Nested Sentiments” (JB-09210) — Paper roses — Wax cord for bows — Gemstone hearts — Skwiglues “Crystal” — Tim Holtz distress ink “Antique Linen”

That’s it from me today! I hope you like my card. If you do, please leave a comment – I love reading them. Have a great day and happy crafting.

Butterfly Ribbon

Hello friends,

A clean and simple card to share today. My card features a die cut from Poppystamps “Bellina Butterfly Ribbon”. The flow of the ribbon and the butterfly are so beautiful that there is no need for much embellishments. I used my watercolor paint to highlight the butterfly and  added dimension to the card by lifting the panel off the card base with mirror tape. I finished off with a few gemstones and a stamped sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

For my card I used the Paper Sweeties “Party Time” stamp/die set and “You Make Me Smile” sentiment stamp set. I colored the pretty balloons with water-color pencils and added sequins for a little bit of bling. The balloons were layered on a little doily and rosy background paper for a shabby look. Just A Note …

Hello friends,

Sharing with you today my guest designer card for the Crafty Boots Challenge blog. What a wonderful opportunity to be featured on such a Guest DT Badgelovely challenge blog – thanks so much Dionne and the Crafty Boots design team for inviting me. The theme of the current challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is ‘Black and White’. Your project can be a card, an altered box, a handmade gift, an album, in fact anything you like just as long as it has a colour combo of black and white.

I decided to create a vintage/shabby themed card with layers of black and white designer paper and a gramophone die cut. To frame the gramophone I used a Spellbinders die “Regal Frame” – for me the old vintage and intricate pattern complimented the paper and gramophone so well. To complete the card I added a JustRite sentiment, paper roses and bows

Challenges entered:

Hello friends,

Thank you for visiting today, I am so glad that you are here to look at my card. Today I share another wedding card in the shabby chic style. I used soft pastel colors with distressing on the paper edges for a bit of a vintage look too. I added a lovely flourish die cut as a background for the flowers and wooden hearts. A piece of lace, pearls and two-layered butterflies completed the card. The sentiment is from JustRite stamps. I would love to enter my card in the following challenges:

A Silver Heart

Hello friends,

It is such a long time since I posted a card, time is just running away with me the last couple of weeks. We had a busy time at work and at home but I am glad to be back with a quick wedding card I created for a friend.  As she likes the clean and simple style, I used an embossing folder for the background and added a metal heart, some satin ribbon, a few gemstones and two paper roses. I love how the fleur-de-lis pattern of the embossing folder compliments the metal heart. Well, as a shabby chic and vintage junkie, I just had to add roses somewhere on my card! The sentiment is from JustRite stamps.

I would love to enter my card in the following challenges:
