A Birdhouse

Hello everyone,

It’s time for another fun challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow again, unbelievable how the days go by and we are already in the middle of April. We are enjoying the cooler autumn/fall weather in our country now and  our garden is still spoiling us with lots of flowers. I think the seeds in the field is getting less, as more and more wild birds are visiting my bird feeder in the back yard. While watching how they rummage to get the best spot for their daily meal I decided to capture something of the garden in my card today. The theme of the challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow is to use a rubber or clear stamp (no digital images) on your vintage or shabby project. My choice was a rubber stamp from Oricraft that I purchased at our local Hobby X Craft Show a month ago. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

Flowered Hat

Hello dear blog friends,

This week at Sugar Creek Hollow we are playing with fashion. Your vintage or shabby chic cards or other paper-crafted projects must include at least one of the following items –  vintage hats, shoes or purses. The super talented Brenda Brown is the guest designer this week and you can see her beautiful work here. I always admire the beautiful, dressed up hats of the eras gone by, although I am glad I didn’t have to wear it. For my card I found this pretty lady at Back Porch Graphics kindly uploaded by Polly as a freebie for us to use. I love the summery feel of her flowered hat and decided to choose a pink gingham paper to match this delightful image. I also played with my sentiment stamps and combined a Kanban and Whimsy stamp for the birthday greeting. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

Challenges I like to enter are:

BPG_VintageHat

The charming lady with the flowered hat from Back Porch Graphics

BPG_VintageHat1

The sentiments and roses

BPG_VintageHat2

The lace, bow and little butterfly

A Big Hug

Hello everyone,

This week I decided to use one of my Kanban stamps I ordered a few months ago from Funky Kits. The image is from  the Kanban clear set “Little Friends, Big Hugs”. For me, the  children and animal combination, in these stamps are absolutely gorgeous. The circular sentiment stamp from Lili of the Valley arrived Monday afternoon in my postal box, and what a joy to use two new stamps on one card!  I was eagerly waiting for a chance to use these beauties and the For Fun Challenge this week was the ideal opportunity. Carol, design team member at For Fun Challenges created a lovely sketch to work with this week.

I also entered my card for the following challenges:

I used the following to create the card:

  • White and blue cardstock
  • Prima Marketing Designer paper Annalee Collection  “Ashton”
  • Kanban clear stamp set 2010 – LFS01 “Little Friends, Big Hugs”
  • Lili of the Valley Circular Sentiments stamp set 7 “For You”
  • Lyra Rembrandt-Aquarell watercolour pencils
  • Heritage White Craft Acrylic paint
  • Lace for bow
  • Paper roses and buds
  • Cute Tee’z Peel-Off stickers for corners
