Autumn Leaves

Hello friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at The Shabby Tea Room with the theme “Colors and Patterns”. You can create a card or project inspired by the photo on The Shabby Tea Room blog. Our sponsor is My Artistic Adventures and you may be the winner of  a $18 voucher at Heather’s Etsy shop!

One of the many things I love are autumn colors – the browns, oranges, reds and yellows are so warm and earthy. I chose a beautiful vintage Thanksgiving autumn collage sheet from My Artistic Adventures to create my card. The lovely papers were embellished with a vintage birdcage, leaves, lace and a few sequins. The leaves are die cut with and Impression Obsession  die and colored with distress inks to match the colors of the background papers. The birdcage is from Cottage Cutz “Fancy Ornate Birdcage” and one of my favorite dies. Although it is summer in my part of the world I hope you’re all enjoying a beautiful fall in the Northern Hemisphere.

Challenges I entered:

Blue Birds and Red Berries

Hello friends,

I have the honor to be a guest designer for the My Artistic Adventures Challenge blog today. Heather asked me to play along with her Christmas/Thanksgiving challenge and also sponsored the lovely image used on my card. I enjoyed it so much to work with her beautiful collage sheets which is available in her Etsy store. Some more good news: Heather is also having a give away – a chance to win a $50 gift certificate for collage sheets she has for sale in her Etsy store. You can find all the details of the give away here.

When I browsed through the Christmas images in the My Artistic Adventures store these two lovely birds caught my eye immediately. I fell in love with the beautiful colors and old vintage look of the image.  To embellish the card I used a  Catalina wreath die cut and some pearl strings between the two layers of the tag, silk flowers, red berries, vintage ribbon and wax cord with two gold bells.  The inside of the card is also embellished with a smaller tag from the collage sheet.

Spring Is Here

Hello blog friends,

We are celebrating Spring this week at Sugar Creek Hollow and I hope you can join us this week with your flower creations. The theme for our first fortnightly challenge is to create a shabby or vintage card with lots of flowers. The sponsor for this challenge is Heather Hudson and you can visit her shop on Etsy at My Artistic Adventures. The prize for one random winner is 3 collage sheets from her Etsy shop.

From Heather’s beautiful collection of digital sheets she kindly supplied me with the “Vintage chic Victorian Lilacs Envelope, Flowers Spring, Thank You, Birthday Card Digital Collage sheet”. The pink and turquoise colors did compliment the shabby style of the card well. I created a pocket with the envelope image to hide a tag stamped on a Spellbinders die cut. The flowers are mostly from Prima and the birdie a die cut from QuicKutz. For the decoration on the inside I used  the smaller version of the envelope and also the “Happy Birthday” sentiment that is also part of the digital sheet.

I entered my card in the following challenges:
