Umbrella Trio

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Darlene is hosting this with the theme “Showers and Flowers”. You can use anything in the picture as inspiration for DD_Showers&Flowersyour creation – we would love to see what you come up with. The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. The prize to win for this challenge is a beautiful umbrella die!

I was inspired by the bright colours, flowers and umbrellas in the photo. I used a floral designer paper which I layered onto vibrant yellow card-stock for my background. I die cut three umbrellas in colours to match the background paper and then embellished them with die cuts, wax cord bows and roses. The umbrellas were then added with mirror tape for dimension on a oval border for interest. I finished off with a stamped sentiment a few raindrop shaped gem stones.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Shabby Scarecrow

Hello friends,

Today I am sharing a card inspired by the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme is “Scare-in’ Up Some Pumpkins” – you can either use scarecrows or pumpkins or both on DD_Scarecrowsyour creation. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!

I was inspired by the scarecrows and sunflowers in the bottom right picture. The adorable scarecrow on my card is a Cottage Cutz die and I decided to give him a shabby look. To put this handsome guy together took a long time but I used up little scraps of paper that was cluttering my desk, I added a few sunflowers, a trellis, small butterflies and bows to embellish the card. I finished off with a sentiment from Creative Expressions. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Pretty Pastels

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the lovely theme of “Pastel Party”.  The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. The prize to win for this challenge is a beautiful flower die and absolutely gorgeous!

I was inspired by the beautiful colors in the photo. I use a Couture Creations Intricutz die “French Bicycle” as focal point on my card. I created a  background for the bicycle with Cosmic Shimmer Pixie powder. I love the shimmer of these powders. On the photo it looks much brighter than in real life! The fun part for me is always to arrange the flowers and I really like the shabby outcome of this card. I finished off with a sentiment die cut from Impression Obsession, a little bit of glitter, bows and a few gem stones on the sentiment.

Challenges I entered:
