Gingerbread Baby

Hello everyone,

For Fun Challenges is sponsored this week by The Stamp Fairy. They have some really gorgeous images in store and also some freebies to try out before you buy. The Stamp Fairy sponsored prize for this challenge is 3 digital images of the winner’s choice. To be eligible to win the prize at For Fun the challenge is to create a non-traditional shaped card and maybe you can win the prize– think out of the box and experiment with shapes. The card must not be square or A2 size, but can be round, star, triangle, business sized envelope etc. I decided on a three-fold concertina card and cut away a diagonal section running from the edge of the first panel to midway down the end panel. My image  is “Gingerbread Babies Candy Canes” kindly sponsored by The Stamp Fairy. I used a A4 paper and my Crafter’s Companion to fold the card. To decorate the diagonal section I punched leaves with my Martha Stewart punch and added red pearls for berries to form a wreath.

I entered my card for the following challenges:

I used the following to create the card:

  • White and green cardstock
  • Queen of Hearts Designer paper “Gingham”
  • The Stamp Fairy digi image “Gingerbread Babies Candy Cane”
  • Inkadinkado clear stamp sentiment60-30271  “Joy”
  • Derwent Color Soft pencils
  • Odourless mineral spirits
  • Red pearls
  • Martha Stewart punch “Oak Leaf”
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities “Circles and Scalloped Circles”
  • Stickles “Icicle”

The talented ladies at For Fun Challenges had, yet again, created some stunning projects for inspiration. Please visit and take part in the fun – we would love to see your card at For Fun Challenges blog this week.

Have a wonderful week.

Greetings from a (very) warm South Africa,

Wheelbarrow Elegance

Hello everyone,

It feels like ages since I last made a card with flowers, and actually I love flowers. Daisy’s Digi Doodles is our sponsor this week at For Fun Challenges and the Design Team could each choose a lovely image from Daisy’s Digi Doodles fabulous shop to create a card for this challenge. The prize for this week’s challenge is a $10 gift certificate from Daisy’s Digi Doodles.

This week we want to see some metal on your creations – this can be brads, charms, etc. When I chose this “Wheelbarrow” image I didn’t have a particular style in mind on how to create the card. For the metal requirement of the challenge I dug this silver photo corners out of my stash and, viola, the theme was set! An old Victorian style card with soft pinks and a little dash of blue colour and of course for a nostalgic look,  lots of delicate flowers. The pearls were added on second thought – still don’t know if that was the right decision.

I entered my card also for the following challenges:

I used the following to create the card:

  • Daisy’s Digi Doodles image “Wheelbarrow”
  • White and pink cardstock
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Pearls
  • Silver photo corners
  • Derwent Colour Soft pencils
  • Odourless mineral spirits
  • Paper flowers
  • Martha Stewart punch “Oak Leaf”
  • Tim Holtz Distress ink “Tattered Rose”

The For Fun Challenges Design Team created lovely cards for this challenge, so hop over for fantastic inspiration.  I would love to see your card link this week at For Fun Challenges.

Make A Wish …

Hello everyone,

Another lovely challenge at For Fun Challenges posted this week and a great prize to be won.  Digi Doodle Shop is the sponsors for this challenge and the theme is Fall Ball. The prize: the winner gets a $10 gift certificate from Digi Doodle to spent in the shop! As it is autumn in the Northern Hemisphere all the lovely warm colours of this splendid season will be visible in nature and we would love to see your cards created with these colours. I live in the Southern Hemisphere and in September we enjoy spring in South Africa but that is not a problem to make my fall ball card! I was born in autumn (Southern Hemisphere in May!) and maybe that is why I love the warm and earthy colours of autumn and use these colours quite often in my card creations.

Dressed by La Boutique

Hello everyone,

Another great challenge at For Fun Challenges  this week. The theme – create a card or project using black, white and  only  one other colour. I decided to use black, white and gold for “Chrissie Prom”, a digi stamp from Sassy Studio Designs. Yes, we are sponsored this week by Sassy Studio Designs and there is also a prize to win; your choice of  4 digi images from their shop!

Chrissie wears such a beautiful dress and for my card I decided this must be a gold shimmering dress and definitely from a French boutique. I coloured the dress and paper roses with Perfect Pearls “Gold” for that shimmering effect, but as I am not a good photographer it didn’t show on the photo. But, I knows my fellow card makers are familiar with the lovely sparkle of Perfect Pearls, so you have the idea.

I am entering my card for the following challenges:

I used the following for the card:

  • White, gold and black cardstock
  • Black and gold background paper
  • Sassy Studio Designs image “Chrissie Prom”
  • Gold coloured paper roses
  • Ranger Perfect Pearls “Perfect gold”
  • Gold pearls
  • Peel off alphabet stickers
  • Black ribbon for bow
  • Martha Stewart punch “Lace scalloped heart”
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities dies “Ovals and Petite Scalloped ovals small”
  • Spellbinders Shapeablities die “Flourish Accent”
  • Stickels “Gold”
  • Derwent Coloursoft colour pencils
  • Zellen Odourless Mineral Spirits

Don’t miss the opportunity to win fabulous digi stamps from Sassy Studio Designs and take a look at the gorgeous cards the other Design Team ladies created at the For Fun Challenges blog. I would love to see your card linked.

Have a wonderful week,

Greetings from South Africa,

Amelia
