Christmas Time

Hello friends,

A Christmas card to share – my first one this year.  I have the honor to be a guest designer for Let’s Craft and Create Challenges today. Mary asked me to play along with the Christmas/ New Year challenge starting today on the blog. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of  this lovely challenge.

My card is created in traditional Christmas colors of green red and gold. To capture our summer Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere I used some kraft, brown and cream colors as well for a more rustic look. I layered the Christmas tree on music paper and added a bow with berries and little tags. To add a fun and festive feel to the card I used lots of red and gold stars. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

A Happy Hello …

Hello friends,

Today’s creation is a sunny Spring card, inspired by the new challenge at Double D Challenges. I love the beautiful bird house in the inspiration tile and decided to make  it the main focus of my card. I die cut three birdhouses with a Cottage Cutz die, layered them on yellow gingham paper and a paper doily. To finish of  I added green swirls, paper roses, a few birdies and a happy “hello” sentiment. Hope you are inspired by my card and will join in the fun at Double D Challenges.

Holiday Sparkle

Hello friends,

Another Christmas card for the new challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. The theme for this fortnight is “Holiday Sparkle” and this week’s winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to spend at the Dies R Us store. What an awesome prize!

I used the lovely shabby pink and silver colors in the photo as inspiration for my card. I just love pink Christmas cards! The Christmas tree is cut with a Memory Box die  and layered the tree on a pink triangle to provide a sturdy base for the “decorations”. I added my favorite pink roses, silver gemstones, stars and cord to create the sparkle on the tree. For the background I used rose paper and a piece of vintage lace. The sentiment is cut with a Paper Smooches Christmas Words die. There are beautiful cards from the design team at The Shabby Tea Room blog and a visit  to see them will be  worthwhile.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

In The Tea Room…

Hello friends,

I visited The Shabby Tea Room recently and saw they have a design team call for three new members. This is a six-month DT term June 2015 DT Callbeginning on July 1st, 2015. I so much love this challenge blog and always admires the lovely creations the Shabby girls showcased with each challenge – maybe this motivated me to enter the DT call with my card today. I used the beautiful inspiration picture to created a pink tea-themed card incorporating the colors, roses and teapot.

Beautiful Blooms …

Hello everyone,

I was surprised to see it was three weeks ago since I last posted a card on my blog – time just flies! But it is good to be back today and share a card that I created for the current challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. The inspiration picture is so beautiful and I tried to capture as many elements in the photo as possible: the bicycle, blooms, banner and wooden planks. The background paper is from the Prima “Tea-Thyme” collection. I stamped the wooden planks  with an Impression Obsession background stamp, cut it in small strips, distressed the pieces and glued them onto the background paper. The die cuts and flowers are distressed with white paint to give the card a shabby look. As springtime is the most loved season for me, I added some hearts, bling and a sentiment “Celebrate” to welcome this wonderful time of the year.
