Wings

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Darlene is hosting this challenge with the lovely theme of “Just Wing It”.  Please visit the Double D Challenge blog and see more wonderful samples from our talented designers and join in the fun! We have a prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org. and a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I was inspired by the black, white, purple and aqua colors in the mood board. I randomly splashes some watercolor paint on watercolor paper and then die cut the butterflies. To add more interest to the card I stamped a strip of typescript as a background for the bow and butterflies. The top panel was then lifted from the card base with mirror tape for dimension. I finished off with a black die cut sentiment and for a little bit of bling I added clear baubles. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Hedgy Truffles

Hello friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about a fun new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Woodland Critters”. You can create a card or project inspired by the photo and we want to see lovely animals from the woodlands on your projects. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card.

I decided to use a cute image from Penny Black for my card this time. The hedgehogs are so adorable and I love coloring with my watercolor pencils for a change. It is the first time I used my new Tim Holtz distress oxide ink and I am quite pleased with the effect I get for the blue sky. I added die cut leaves and a sentiment to finish off. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

It’s Cold Outside …

Hello friends,

This will be my last post before Christmas and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your visits during 2017. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and for my Christian friends, have a Merry Christmas. The theme for our last 2017 challenge at Double D Challenges is “Baby It’s Cold Outside – Winter”. The team created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile and as always there is a lovely prize to win!

My inspiration from the picture is the white, red and brown colors and also the snow. I used an adorable Penny Black stamp for my card which I coloured with my Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. For a “frosty” feel I die cut a snowflake border and added some sparkle with fairy dust glitter.  I finished off with more snowflakes, glitter snow, a silver bow and a hanging silver sentiment die cut.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

A Little Sunshine …

Hello friends,

A clean and simple card to share today. As we are in the middle of our winter season in the Southern Hemisphere I really need a little sunshine and cheerful yellow colors today!

My card features an image from the Penny Black stamp set  “Nature’s wishes”. To add dimension to the card I die cut half a circle in the top layer and then lift the panel off the card base with mirror tape. I used my Derwent Inktense pencils to color the image. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Beautiful Friend

Hello friends,

I hope you are having a lovely holiday season so far. My card today is a little bit different – a CAS kraft card with a homespun “feeling”. I followed the definition of “homespun” on the Less is More challenge blog to create this unsophisticated, plain and natural card with a Penny Black stamp.  I embossed the mannequin and sentiment with white embossing powder and did the coloring with my Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. I hope you like today’s creation.

Challenges:

PennyBlack

Project details:

  • Kraft cardstock
  • Penny Black stamp set “Lace Delight” (30-115)
  • Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils for coloring
  • White embossing powder
  • Twine

That’s it for today! Take care and have a great day.

Regards,

Amelia

Roses For You

Hello friends,

Another CAS card to share. Yes, I am trying my best to master the art of clean and simple cards. This card is for the challenge at CASology and the cue word is “give”. I always love to give flowers to my friends and loved ones. This adorable image from  Penny Black says it all: to give a bunch of flowers and a compliment will always be appreciated by the receiver. To add a little bit of color and interest I used a border punch and a strip of pink paper at the bottom of the card.

Challenges:

GiveFlowers

Project details:

  • White card and pink cardstock
  • Penny Black stamp set “Piece of my Heart” (30-642)
  • Marianne Design Collectables sentiment stamp (COL1324)
  • Martha Stewart border punch
  • Derwent Inktense water color pencils for coloring

Thank you for visiting today, I appreciate it so much. I am back tomorrow with a shabby card to share!

Kind regards,

Amelia
