Sweet Sunflower

Hello fiends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Darlene is hosting this challenge with the theme “Sunflowers”. This is such a fun challenge, and most of us love flowers, so I hope to see your card linked up at the Double D challenge blog. The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile.

I used a sunflower stamp I bought a while ago for this challenge. I coloured the stamped image with my watercolour pencils and then fussy cut the image. My background layers are a diagonal striped designer paper as well as a journal card for a bit of contrast. I layered the sunflower image on the background with mirror tape for dimension and then add a black die cut butterfly. I finished off with a a gold mirror board sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

  • Crafts Galore Encore #92 (October) (ends 10/30) – Always Anything Goes
  • Love to Craft LTCCB#63 (ends 10/30) – Always Anything Goes
  • Dies R Us Challenge #179 (ends 10/28) – Always Anything Goes with a brand they sell (Dies: Cheery Lynn Designs “Small Exotic Butterflies” (DL-113AB) — Poppystamps sentiment die “Vintage Happy Birthday” (Style no 1178))

Autumn Time

Hello friends

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Leaves”. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!

I love to make cards with autumn colours – the browns, oranges, reds and yellows are so warm and earthy. I decided to create a shabby card with a rustic feel for this challenge. I painted a few scraps of papers with my watercolour paints and then die cut the leaves with different sized dies. I layered a scribble circle on a rustic designer paper background and then added the autumn leaves with mirror tape for dimension.  A few green sprigs are also added for more interest. I finished off with a gold die cut sentiment and a wax cord bow. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

The Lookout

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Anything With A Tail”. The team have created a bunch of beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. We have also a fun prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org.

I decided on a Penny Black stamp with an adorable cat for this card. I stamped the brick wall with grey ink and layer this on blue card-stock to frame the brick wall. I coloured the image with watercolour pencils, cut it out and layered it on the brick wall background. The pot-plant was stamped twice, which I also fussy cut and added with mirror tape for dimension.. To add more interest and colour I added a die-cut willow branch. I then added a three layer die cut sentiment to finish off .

I entered my card in the following challenges:
