Your Special Day …

Hello everyone,

The days and weeks are running away with me and I could not believe it is time for a new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow! The theme for this challenge is “I can see clearly” and you therefore have to create a card or any paper crafting project using something like acetate  or clear packaging on your creation. Please remember your project must be made in a vintage or shabby chic style.

I created my card  around a lovely piece of designer paper by Marion Smith Designs – I just love the basket of roses. I stamped a clock face and a sentiment on some clear packaging from a Spellbinders die with black StazOn “Tuxedo Black” ink. I assembled the clock face with mirror tape on the designer paper so that the lovely paper, image and leafy sprig border are still visible. The mirror tape is hidden with paper flowers glued strategically on the dots. I added some butterflies, gemstones and a bow to finish off.

Hello friends,

I am back with a card for the new Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge that starts today. This week the theme is to use metal on your project. We want your vintage or shabby chic cards or other paper-crafted projects to feature a charm or any metal embellishment on it. I decided to use a butterfly stamp for my main image and added a metal butterfly and  bronze chain as embellishments. The image is stamped on watercolor paper and I added only a few blotches of color with Lyra-Rembrandt Aquarelle pencils to create a weathered vintage look. The butterfly stamp is a South African design from SiDesigns by Amanda and the sentiment is from the Whimsy  “Vintage Birthday Tabs” collection.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Hello blog fiends,

Today I am delighted to share a card with you as I am suffering from a serious attack of crafters’ block. For weeks I am struggling and tried every medicine for this serious issue but with no luck. Well I can’t say I am satisfied with my effort for today, but at least I have tried. I kept the layout of the card very basic as I couldn’t think of something else. I hand sewn the crystal beads on the lace and love the glitz it gave to the card. Hope you enjoy this one.
