Show Up and Shine!

Hello friends,

A clean and simple card to share today. Some of the ladies of the Double D team challenged each other to do a a card for the Addicted to CAS challenge. The idea is to lift our spirits, get us out of our daily routines and to do some crafting to help us mentally and emotionally. Please visit the ladies and share some love. The ladies who joined this challenge with me are:

Darlene

Birgit

Kathy

Diane

My card features a clear stamp set from Penny Black. I coloured the image with watercolour pencils, stamped a “quirky” sentiment to do justice to the cute little hedgie and his balloon. I added dimension to the card by lifting the panel off the card base with mirror tape. I finished off with glossy accents to the hearts and some pink star gemstones.

Challenges I entered:

Watercolor Rose

Hello friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Watercolor”. For more information about the challenge and DD_Watercolorthe lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Let’s see some beautiful watercolors!

My clean and simple card features an image of a wild rose. The flower and leaves are so beautiful that there is no need for much embellishments. I used distress ink “Antique linen” to stamp the image and then colored it with my Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. I like the no-line watercoloring technique and was pleased with the outcome on this card.  For dimension I lifted the main panel off the card base with mirror tape. I finished off with a few gemstones and a stamped sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

I tried another card with the same image but in a happy yellow and orange color. I  change the image a little bit by adding more green leaves. I always admire all the lovely watercolor cards and hopefully I can gain more confidence in creating these cards in future.
