Meet Fizzy Moon

Hello blog friends,

A cute card to share today featuring the adorable Fizzy Moon bear peeping from behind a table filled with flowers. When I saw this adorable bear stamp in the craft shop I decided he is going home with me. For a change I did not use designer paper but made an embossed background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and further embellished the card with Marianne Design die cuts, pearls and some Prima flowers I had for ages in my stash. So I had a little fun working with the dies, punches and embossing folders. Hope you enjoy the card as much as I did making it.

Hop Hop Hurrah!

Hello everyone,

This is my last project as guest designer for Wild Orchid Crafts. I absolutely love to create with their beautiful flowers and lace. Today’s card is created with some of my favourite autumn colours. Although the background paper is a warm rust colour I struggled to get a photo that do justice to the color combo – I think a photography course is one of the important things on my bucket list! The adorable image  (“Birthday bumps”) and sentiment is  from Lili of the Valley and the colouring was done with Lyra-Rembrandt Aquarelle water-colour pencils. The wild roses, cherry blossoms, semi-open rosebuds and rosebuds are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I created the card with the following challenges in mind:

It was a lot of fun to create with all the lovely products from Wild Orchid Crafts. Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you find some inspiration from my card today.

Have a wonderful week .

Butterfly Kisses

Hello everyone,

After the overcast and rainy days of the weekend the sun is shining this afternoon. To celebrate the sunshine we are so used too in South Africa I created this card in warm, sunny yellow and orange colours. I used the sketch at FlutterBy Wednesday Challenge for the layout and the adorable little bear with his glasses and butterfly friends represents my card at the Lili of the Valley Challenge with the theme “Things with Wings”. The stripes on the  background paper were bold so I decided to emboss the paper to create a softer look on the card. And as all my regular visitors know, I don’t own Copics or markers, but always use my Derwent Inktense  and Faber-Castell Aquarelle watercolour pencils for colouring. At Crafty Cardmakers the challenge is “Spotlight on Pencils” – Hooray!

The card seems fit for the following challenges:

Greetings from South Africa,

Hello everyone,

An easy challenge this week at For Fun Challenges as you can let go on creativity – the theme “anything goes”.  As Christmas is only 32 days away I decided on a Christmas card for this challenge. Last Sunday we had our regular Christmas evening of song at our church. This is always very special and the Christmas hymns just a joy to sing. Maybe that’s why I chose the music sheet paper and little ornamental bells to create my card. I love the poinsettia flowers from Prima although the large poinsettia may be a little bit too overwhelming for the card.

After completion the card also fits the following challenges:

I used the following to create this card:

  • Red, brown and white cardstock
  • 7Gypsies’ designer paper “Orchestra”
  • Lili if the Valley stamp “Christmas Ted – Big Star”
  • Kaisercraft clear stamp “Tis The Season Collection”
  • Bells
  • Gold thread
  • Prima poinsettias “Holiday Celebration Snowflake”
  • Martha Stewart punch “Oak leaf”
  • Martha Stewart punch “Doily lace”
  • Gold doily
  • Twinkling H2O for colouring
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink “Vintage photo”
  • FlowerSoft “Polar White”
  • Ranger Stickles “Golden Rod”

The Design Team ladies at For Fun Challenges created a variety of cards for your inspiration. Hop over to see all the lovely cards and I hope to see your card at the challenge this week.

Have a wonderful week and happy crafting.

Greetings from a sunny and warm South Africa,

Hello everyone,

Although it is very cold, we still enjoy the bright, sunshine  days of South Africa. Between watching the World cup soccer matches and the rugby test matches between the Springboks and Italy, entering  card challenges is still my favourite pastime. I received my Lili of the Valley stamps last week so you are going to see a lot of cards featuring these lovely images. For this week I enter my card for the following challenges:

Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge #55 – Sketch by Dawny and flowers

Stamp Something – Something Summer

Teddy Stampers Challenge #14 – Summer Bears

I used the following for the card:

  • White, pink and green cardstock
  • My Mind’s Eye Designer paper “Quite Contrary”
  • Lili of the Valley stamp S138 “Window Box”
  • Lili of the Valley stamp “General Greetings Small”
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities “Classic Scalloped rectangles”
  • Spellbinders Shapeabilities “Flourish Accent”
  • Paper Hydrangea Flowers
  • Pink pearls
  • Twinkling H2O’s for colouring

Last week we took a short break at the guest farm Saamrus in Magaliesburg. Really enjoyed the wide open spaces, to walk in the mountain and the clean fresh air of the farm. As this is a pet friendly getaway we took the dogs along and, oh boy, did they enjoy the river and mountain walks. It was bitterly cold and in the evenings the fireplace was the best place to be. Here are two photos of my furry friends.

The little one, Katie, did like to sit in front of a small fan heater in the mornings:

Twyla, the Labrador, loved the cool water of the Magalies river:

Thanks for visiting my blog and looking at my card. Hope you like it and enjoy the week.
