Pretty Topiary Trees

Hello friends,

A card to share for the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme from Team Darlene for our two weekly challenge this time is “Gingham” – of any color or material (ribbon or paper). Please visit the Double D DD_Ginghamchallenge blog and see the wonderful samples from Double “D”s talented designers and join in the fun!

Now onto the details of my card for the new challenge. I created my card in the shabby chic style using three topiary trees as a focal point. I used gingham paper and a piece of floral designer paper for my background layers.  The trees were lifted from the fancy die cut panel with mirror tape for dimension. The trees were then decorated with small die cut leaves, paper roses and gemstones. I finished off with a die cut sentiment, small birds and glitter. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I also entered my card in the following challenges:

  • Scrapy Land Challenges #110 (ends 04/03) – Anything Goes with a die cut from a brand that Scrapy Land sells (Dies: Wild Rose Studio die “Floral Frame” (SD004) — Creative Expressions sentiment die “Happy Birthday” (CEDME002) — Impression Obsession die “Leaves” (DIE066-C) — Impression Obsession die “Small birds” (DIE154-A))

Shabby Chic Holiday

Hello friends,

This will be my last post before Christmas and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your visits during 2014. I wish you all happy holidays and a Merry Christmas. Enjoy this very special and festive time with your family and loved ones.

I have another pink Christmas card I put together and want to share with you. Fortunately it is hand delivered and will still be in time. Once again I used the lovely inspirational picture at The Shabby Tea Room  to create this last-minute card. I love the soft pastel pink, aqua, silver and ivory and added  lots of glitter and silver mesh to bling it up for a shabby Christmas feel. I stamped and wet embossed the Christmas tree with silver , added some pearls, silver bling and roses and then layered the stamped image on a beautiful die cut from Wild Rose Studio. Two silver bells, aqua wax cord , a silver star and pink heart complete the card. The sentiment die cut is from Spellbinders.
