Lantern Charm

Hello dear friends,

No, no, this is not a bird-cage again, but a lantern image from an Inkadinkadoo clear stamp set. With the cold front sweeping through South Africa this week I rather feel like making cards with heaters, fireplaces or any thing that can produce more warmth than a lantern. Anyway,  I love the images from this stamp set as it will also look beautiful on Christmas cards – will give it a try this year om my Christmas cards. My card was inspired by the challenge at The Play Date Cafe this week. The colour challenge is to create a card with black and white with just one colour of your choice and just a splash.  You can see the inspiration photo here. I used my new Martha Stewart punch ‘Ironworks’ as this punch compliments the silhouette image of the lantern beautifully.

I entered the card in the following challenges:

The lace and flowers

The inside with two butterflies

Project details:

  • White and black cardstock
  • Polka Dot designer paper (Unkown)
  • Inkadinkadoo clear stamp set “Lanterns”
  • JustRite sentiment stamp
  • Martha Stewart punch “Ironworks”
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities “Ovals”
  • Upikit punch “Butterfly”
  • Paper roses
  • Wax cord
  • Lace
  • Skwiglues “Crystal”

Thanks for visiting and may you have a wonderful week packed with creativity and crafting.

Regards from South Africa,

Amelia

One of my favorite elegant color combinations. This is so exquisite and beautiful with the lace and red roses. Good luck in the challenges. I’ve been so busy working on baby shower invitations and DT cards that don’t go live until August I haven’t had time to anything else lately. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous creation. This is a stunning card Amanda. Love that lantern image.
. The whole card is just so lovely, the lace, the punch, everything. Certainly have to find something more than your lantern to provide some warmth.
