Hello friends,
Today’s creation is a masculine card inspired by the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme for this challenge is “Twine” but hemp cord and jewelry cord will also be acceptable. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!
I created my card in the vintage style using a vintage car die cut as focal point. I created the background with a Tim Holtz layering stencil and distress ink. I added a few strands of twine and a tree branch for interest. As this card is for my hubby’s birthday I finish off by adding a little red heart hanging from the tree. The top panel was lifted from the card base with mirror tape for dimension. I finished off with a die cut sentiment.
I entered my card in the following challenges:
- Scrapy Land Challenges #87 (ends 04/18) – Anything Goes with a die cut from a brand that Scrapy Land sells. (Dies: Cheery Lynn Designs die “Old car” (CABD33) — Impression Obsession die “Tree” (DIE219-P) — Elizabeth Craft Designs sentiment die “Happy Birthday” (717))
- Inspiration Destination Challenge #147 (ends 04/10) – Anything goes
- Always Fun Challenges #52 (ends 04/09) – Happy Birthday
- Craftaholics R Us Challenge #14 (ends 04/11) – Birthday cards
- Dies R Us Challenge #94 (ends 04/13) – Anything Goes with dies that Dies R Us sells. (Dies: Cheery Lynn Designs die “Old car” (CABD33) — Impression Obsession die “Tree” (DIE219-P) — Elizabeth Craft Designs sentiment die “Happy Birthday” (717))

How adorable to have that little heart hanging from the tree with a bit of twine. It’s the perfect final touch. I love your background stamping, showcases the vintage car beautifully. I really like the rustic feel of this card, it’s simply fabulous!!!
