Topiary Tree and Trellis

Good day everyone,

Today I share a card with you I made with a Cottage Cutz die “Topiary”.  Although it took a little patience and time to glue all the little bits and pieces together I am always pleased with the end results achieved with these cute dies. To add depth to the leaves, rose and planter I coloured the die cuts with my ordinary colour pencils. The trellis frame was created with a Martha Stewart edge punch “Garden trellis” and the inside of the frame lined with glitter for a little bling. I liked the clean and simple look on the outside and decided to add my stamped sentiment on the inside with some of the little roses and leaves.  The colour combo of ivory, mint and coral  is this week’s challenge at the Play Date Cafe.

I enter  my card in the following challenges:

A close-up of the topiary tree. I added some depth with colour pencils to the roses. leaves and planter.

A peep at the inside. I did some stamping too!

Project details:

  • White, Ivory, coral and mint green cardstock
  • Cottage Cutz Die “Topiary” from The Scrapping Cottage
  • Martha Stewart Punch “Garden Trellis”
  • Lili of the Valley sentiment stamp
  •  Croxley colour pencils
  • Skwiglues glitter “Crystal”

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you see something to inspire you. I appreciate your kind comments and looking forward visiting you and see what you have created this week.

Have a wonderful week.

Gingerbread Baby

Hello everyone,

For Fun Challenges is sponsored this week by The Stamp Fairy. They have some really gorgeous images in store and also some freebies to try out before you buy. The Stamp Fairy sponsored prize for this challenge is 3 digital images of the winner’s choice. To be eligible to win the prize at For Fun the challenge is to create a non-traditional shaped card and maybe you can win the prize– think out of the box and experiment with shapes. The card must not be square or A2 size, but can be round, star, triangle, business sized envelope etc. I decided on a three-fold concertina card and cut away a diagonal section running from the edge of the first panel to midway down the end panel. My image  is “Gingerbread Babies Candy Canes” kindly sponsored by The Stamp Fairy. I used a A4 paper and my Crafter’s Companion to fold the card. To decorate the diagonal section I punched leaves with my Martha Stewart punch and added red pearls for berries to form a wreath.

I entered my card for the following challenges:

I used the following to create the card:

  • White and green cardstock
  • Queen of Hearts Designer paper “Gingham”

Have a wonderful week.

Wheelbarrow Elegance

Hello everyone,

It feels like ages since I last made a card with flowers, and actually I love flowers. Daisy’s Digi Doodles is our sponsor this week at For Fun Challenges and the Design Team could each choose a lovely image from Daisy’s Digi Doodles fabulous shop to create a card for this challenge. The prize for this week’s challenge is a $10 gift certificate from Daisy’s Digi Doodles.

This week we want to see some metal on your creations – this can be brads, charms, etc. When I chose this “Wheelbarrow” image I didn’t have a particular style in mind on how to create the card. For the metal requirement of the challenge I dug this silver photo corners out of my stash and, viola, the theme was set! An old Victorian style card with soft pinks and a little dash of blue colour and of course for a nostalgic look,  lots of delicate flowers. The pearls were added on second thought – still don’t know if that was the right decision.

I entered my card also for the following challenges:

I used the following to create the card:

Make A Wish …

Hello everyone,

Another lovely challenge at For Fun Challenges posted this week and a great prize to be won.  Digi Doodle Shop is the sponsors for this challenge and the theme is Fall Ball. The prize: the winner gets a $10 gift certificate from Digi Doodle to spent in the shop! As it is autumn in the Northern Hemisphere all the lovely warm colours of this splendid season will be visible in nature and we would love to see your cards created with these colours. I live in the Southern Hemisphere and in September we enjoy spring in South Africa but that is not a problem to make my fall ball card! I was born in autumn (Southern Hemisphere in May!) and maybe that is why I love the warm and earthy colours of autumn and use these colours quite often in my card creations.
